InterContinental Melbourne

Navodit Basoya
Chief Concierge

Welcome to the InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto. As Chief Concierge, I look forward to sharing our amazing city with you. Our goal is to help you enjoy an authentic experience in Melbourne.

Things to do
The Perfect Day

The perfect Melbourne morning begins with a breath of fresh air and a casual stroll along ‘The Garden Run’, a walking map specially curated to take you along the edge of the Yarra River and through the Royal Botanic Gardens. Stop for a cup of coffee at Rosso on your way to Flinders Lane before embarking on your journey.

Once it’s time for lunch, Farmer’s Daughters provides an elegant introduction to Victoria’s best produce, crafted with Seasonal considerations by Executive Chef Alejandro Saravia. Chief Concierge Navodit considers the MCG to be Melbourne’s equivalent to the Sydney Opera House. As a cricket fan himself, Navodit says catching a game, or at the very least taking a tour of this Melbourne icon, is an essential item on any Melbourne itinerary.

Finally, finish the day with a trip to the Winter Night Markets, showcasing an array of cuisines, mulled wine, open fires and entertainment. Or, if family friendly activities are on your agenda, explore Lightscape, a playful after-dark experience in the Royal Botanica Gardensre are beautifully lit at night.

Did You Know?
  • Hook Turns

In the city of Melbourne and some other sign posted areas right hand turns must be made from the far left hand lane in order to give trams the right of way. Please see your Concierge for driving instructions.

  • Gardens

Victoria is the Garden State of Australia and there are many lovely gardens within walking distance of the hotel. Please see your Concierge for maps and inspiration.

  • Historic Melbourne

During the 1880's and 1890's Melbourne had reputably become the richest city in the world due to the Victorian Gold Rush. Many buildings are still standing today from this era of distinctive Gothic Revival Style. The hotel is housed in one of these landmarks. We have our full story in our history level on ground floor but our Concierge team can direct you to other historical sites and landmarks which make up Melbourne's unique journey.

  • Wine Regions

Victoria has over 20 wine regions and many of them are within easy driving distance of the hotel. Please see your concierge for small group tours or driving directions, maps and advice on how to make the most of your winery experience.
