Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by A Truly Remarkable Suite But In-House Services Were A Little Weak We had the Federal Suite and it was truly a remarkable Suite. From the furnishings to the fixtures, ever detail was thought of in this room. Definitely would recommend this suite for a special occasion. Would recommend that if there is a large function going on in the hotel during your stay that you make reservations for breakfast. Seems like a funny thing to do, but we ran into a problem since we didn't have reservations and had to find another place to eat. The Concierge was helpful in finding another place to eat but could not get breakfast and had to go with a lunch menu at 10:00 AM. Did run into some problems with the Red Door Spa, their attention to details fell short. Someone had called out and they did not get a replacement and our appointments were changed without us being notified. 27 October 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Memorable experience. Wonderful room, dining, pleasant and knowlegable staff. Truly a wonderful experience at your fine hotel. Made our first visit to DC a pleasure. Wonderful room which was quiet, clean and lacked nothing. Staff were pleasant, knowledgable and always available. The food was out of this world wonderful. I highly recommend the Willard and do keep up your fine hotel, dining and service. Thank you! 24 October 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Experience This hotel is beautiful from the moment you enter the lobby. Look up and all the state seals are on the ceiling. Our room was on the corner overlooking the White House back entrance. We watched countless motorcades go in and out of the gate. Thrilling!. Walking distance to everything. Breakfast each morning was delightful. Being from the west coast we almost missed the first morning due to time difference. The staff went out of their way to make sure we didn't feel rushed. Excellent service. One more thing: The sticky buns were to die for--oozing with caramel. Will go back next time we are in DC. 21 October 2013

Two very minor detractors: both the bathroom sink and tub were very slow to drain (room 1041), and the cable TV and wired internet access were out most of the last day. Management did compensate for the latter by offering non-billed wifi. I will be back. 12 October 2013

When you walk into the lobby, you sense that it is an important Washington landmark--it's luxurious in a timeless, old fashioned way. The people at the reception desk couldn't be more helpful. The rooms are well appointed--and the food is terrific. Don't miss the breakfast buffet. And check out the Lincoln memorabilia. As for the location, you're a block from the White House. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cannot wait to return ! My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Willard last weekend & what a pleasure it was ! We decided to go to DC even though National museums were closed due to the shut down. There was still plenty to see and do in the city and outside of it - such taking the metro to Alexandria, VA. But one of the nicest things about our trip was staying at the Willard. This hotel is gorgeous and tremendously historic- Lincoln stayed here on the nights right before his inauguration, Martin Luther King was staying here before his 'I have a dream' speech, and so many other presidents & celebrities have stayed at the Willard. The lobby is beautiful and our room was very nice - it overlooked Penn. Ave. The staff, from front desk people, bellman, concierge staff, etc, were all extremely helpful, kind, and friendly. The location of this hotel, which is almost next to the White House, is optimal and also only about 4 miles from Reagan airport, which is only about a $15 taxi fare. It was also very convenient having Cafe du Parc there - whether you want a full breakfast or just a delicious cappuccino & a muffin or croissant. I cannot say enough good things about the Willard - it was a joy to stay there and we already plan on returning to DC and the Willard next year, and hopefully museums like the Smithsonian, will be open. 11 October 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Needs renovation The staff were friendly and helpful. The room left something to be desired. The safe was broken and could not be fixed. The bath facet was hanging loose when we checked in. I stuck it back in the wall but it needed repair. There is a shortage of electrical outlets. The room had not been serviced when we returned after the day out (housekeeping had already gone home but three other staff rushed up and cleaned the room) 06 October 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Had a very good time. Service and people very nice. Location is great. Room is clean and well appointed. Bed comfortable. Room service good, forgot our coffee, but reacted very quickly. Only small problem room was the room was a little warm and stuffy, tried to turn up the A/C but no difference. also, Wifi did not work very well and had to pay $10.00 per day for each device (2). A liitle expensive for something that now should be like electricity, included. Otherwise, had very good stay and would come back. 02 October 2013

My wife an I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary and this was a great way to celebrate it. Thank you for the complimentary sparkling nonalcoholic wine and the berries; it was a nice touch. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Business I stayed here over the last three years visiting weekly. The staff all knew me by name from the first visit. Meals were excellent (get in on the theater crowd specials!). The wine selection was excellent, and there were several folks knowledgeable enough to enlighten me on new adventures to try. Check out this hotel's frequent visitor perks. There are great places to see and eat around the hotel also. get your pic with the Fonz! and eat as a spy next door. 24 September 2013

Our room was clean, comfortable, and well furnished. The staff was friendly and always helpful. I've been to D.C. many times and stayed at different locations though never the same place twice ---that will change as I plan on staying at the Willard often! It was located close to many great restaurants, the National Mall, and many other Memorial Sites. 11 September 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bathroom wasn't clean, expected more The hotel is a historic and beautiful landmark. I wish I had had more time to explore the hotel inside. However, I was there for two nights for a quick event. Upon arrival, the valet service was quick but there was no one to open the door or greet me as I entered with all my luggage, until I was already up to the reservation counter. The receptionist did allow me to check in early which was nice. However, the biggest problem was that my toilet in the bathroom had not been cleaned--to the point that remnants of the last person's stay were all over the seat. I did not notice till I had already unpacked, and frankly was thoroughly disgusted. The little things also were just not up to the price paid. No slippers in the room, etc.--this is supposed to be a top rate hotel, it's certainly top dollar, and these things put a damper on the experience. I stay in hotels about a quarter of the year, this one's attention to details was towards the bottom of those experiences. 11 September 2013

From the moment I walk into the beautiful lobby , interact with a warm and thoughtful staff, to my room, I am content. After 15 years of returning to the Willard, I have never had a bad experience, uncomfortable bed or poor service. 10 September 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent staff and service This was our 2nd time to stay, and as the first stay it was excellent. I highly recommend staying at the Williard. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The only slight problem was that the room was slightly warm at night. Now this was early August so it was pretty warm outside. We set the thermostat as low as it would go, but couldn't quite get it as cool as I would have liked. I'll also admit that I like my room very cool at night, probably more so thatn the average person. It was also not enough of an issue to report to the staff. Again, I highly recommend this hotel and woudl stay again without question when in DC. 10 September 2013

Best of all, everybody is friendly, knowledgeable and the service is top notch. I cannot ask for more.
