Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JackieMD Wineglass Marathon Stay
My only complaint about my stay is that my room was not ready until 4:30 PM - which I believe was beyond the staff's control. They did apologize. They made no promises of an early breakfast (which I thought was a bit odd considering the marathon probably brings a lot of people into town) but I was pleasantly surprised when breakfast was set up by 6 AM (maybe even earlier). Also, the manager was kind enough to give me a key to the pool area the afternoon after I had checked out so that I could shower before driving home. It's almost a mile to the finish area (also where the buses pick you up to take you to the start) but that really wasn't a problem. Very close to the packet pickup.

This is my 4h consecutive fall staying at the Staybridge Suites in Corning. Last year it had regressed n many ways once the new owners took over, but this year things were back like the "old days" and it was great. I guess people complained and the new owner listened - thank you. The evening social hour is a highlight of my day/trip as I have met many nice people. The new girl doing this is really nice and Joanne, the longtime breakfast cook is a truly super employee ad person.

We stayed two nights at this location while we explored Watkins Glen and Corning. We had a very pleasant stay and met some very nice people. The front desk was very helpful and the room was great. Oh, and the breakfast was good too! We would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by NurseSandy Holiday weekend required more of everything in Dining Room
Have stayed here before, and have always been pleased, but the Labor Day weekend was sorely lacking staff to cover the breakfast rush Sunday morning! There were only two people "manning" the kitchen, and they couldn't keep up with the demand for food, so the result was a long liine of hungry patrons. It didn't help that people were taking 5-6 sausage, cream cheese etc. at a time, and the pancake maker was out of service. There weren't enough tables, so some of us had to to sit in the library, at tables not suited to the purpose, and some kids even ended up sitting on the floor. Particularly irksome, was a patron who thought it was OK to talk on his cell phone using the speakerphone feature in the Library/Dining Room while people were trying to enjoy their meal - when the Receptionist on duty was told about the problem, she merely shrugged, and did nothing. Payback was had when this annoying person finally was shamed into retreating to the lobby, where this same receptionist then was given the same treatment!!
This experience won't keep me from returning, but it should give management pause.....................

Normally when we go for wine or on a tour we stay here, we love the new room make over..beds were a little soft for us...we are used to a harder bed...but great stay...no smoke smell this time. They do not allow smoking which is a plus for me. The breakfast is always very good. We just enjoy it there!

We recently stayed at Staybridge while visiting our son at Alfred University. There were five of us in the two bedroom, two bathroom suite. The suite was very spacious and clean, with TVs in both bedrooms and the living room. The beds were very comfortable and the staff was helpful. The complimentary breakfast was not very impressive, but for the value of the suite, it was worth it. We are visiting Alfred again for family fall weekend and plan to stay here again. Even though it's a 45 minute drive to the campus, the space and comfort of the suite is well worth it, especially having two bathrooms.Being in walking distance to the Corning Museum of Glass was definately a plus!

Limited breakfast choices. Broken down appliance not fixed in a couple of days.
We weren't notified that room cleaning/changing is by request only over the weekends.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Duke70 Great room and good service
Impressed with the room and staff were friendly. The check in was not available at three even though we had stopped in to let the front desk know we were in the area and would be back to register after three. Returned at three thirty and still had a fifteen minute wait for our room.

The best hotel in Corning for a family. Good breakfast. Pool is great to unwind and get a little exercize. Also there is a basketball court. A few month ago we noticed their ball was a little worn. They got new ball!
The hotel is adjacent to the parking lot for the Glass Museum. Houses behind hotel are modest but otherwise a quiet safe neighborhood. Back entrance provides a little shortcut when we visit family in area.

I was recently a summer intern at Corning Inc. and was lucky enough to spend my stay at the Staybridge. This is a great hotel with a pleasant staff who are always willing to help. I would highly recommend this hotel and will certainly be staying here in the future.

Loved that this Hotel was within walking distance to all we wanted to do. The breakfast was excellent, the amenities were fantastic and the room was almost perfect (the walls seemed rather thin but not unlike any other hotels in which I have stayed).

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Heyhowyoudoing Excellent service and rooms
My stay at the Staybridge Suites has always been a sucessful stay with quiet atmosphere and staff to attend to your needs. I am glad the rooms are now non smoking. I look forward to my next stay at the hotel. Also breakfast is included but I do find the rooms a little pricey, which causes me to stay less frequently. If it were at a lower price I probably would stay there more often. They should be conscience of the public's need because of the recession.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Samma Free food and laundry room add value
My husband and I stayed here in late April, early May while visiting the CMoG. We were pleasantly surprised by the amenities offered as we have mostly stayed with another hotel chain. The receptions in the evening had a nice light meal and wine and beer. We were surprised to find a laundry room at no charge and with machines that actually worked, unlike some we had paid for in other hotels that didn't work. Breakfasts were good, warm cookies were terrific and we were within walking distance to the museum where we spent two days exploring and making our own glass projects. All the staff were pleasant and helpful. We joined the Priority Club.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by cakebaker Had a great experience
We stayed here overnight when in town for a family reunion. The kids (7 and almost 4) enjoyed the pool and spa as much as we did- we were by ourselves at the pool 2 out of the 3 times we were there. The outside courtyard with basketball net was a nice touch too. The staff was so nice, the breakfast buffet had a nice variety and the room was spotless. I would definitely come back. We never made it the Corning Museum of Glass while there so we have a good reason to return - hopefully soon!!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Ripley Longtime guest, latest visit very disappointing
We have stayed at the Staybridge Corning for years and have had excellent experiences at this site. Recently, customer service levels and staff training have slipped exponentially. We reserved a King Size non smoking suite, and were provided a room (not a suite) with a queen size bed. We opened the door, realized we were not assigned the room we had reserved and called the front desk. They were unapologetic and not accommodating in the least regarding their screw up-and we had no option but to stay in the room. The clerk offered to take 50 dollars off the room rate, but we found ourselves wondering why reserve a particular room when you don't get it? In addition staff failed to communicate a new pet policy at registration (75 dollars/night). We have brought our dog to the Staybridge at least twice annually for the past ten years, uneventfully. Having no way of knowing that the approach to pets had changed, we only discovered this when the clerk stood outside the door playing detective (rather than just asking-we would have been happy to volunteer the information). I went to the front desk to fill out the paper work she demanded we complete on the other side of the door (again, communication of the new policy at registration would have been helpful), and asked to speak to the manager. I had to ask three times for the managers name before her first name was provided by the clerk (first she claimed not to know her managers name). The manager was literally hiding in the office behind the front desk to avoid the discussion, offering her staff no support whatsoever. We are two corporate vice presidents who will take the time and trouble to communicate our dissatisfaction with this experience to others. Not sure what happened here to decimate a good motel, but a decade long family of customers won't be staying again. Pathetic.
