The room was clean and updated - except for the bathroom which had peeling paint and crumbling tile. The price was good and the pool and gym were well maintained and breakfast provided was great with a big selection. Overall, it was a good stay. The only other problem was housekeeping for the stay is not provided on weekends or holidays and we stayed over both so we went from Saturday to Tuesday with no service. So we had lots of trash and needed towels and coffee.

Have enjoyed at least two stays here...rapidly becoming hotel of choice in DSM area for Pet friendly and home like qualities with great facilities and outdoor ambience.

We found the hotel to be exceptionally clean and very comfortable. The front desk staff were helpful, and friendly. The whole experience at Staybridge was excellent and will definitely recommend you to friends and stay ourselves again. Thank you for a great time.

Customer service was great at check in. Paperwork was easy & room key was ready & waiting. Appreciated the recommendations made for dinner in the area. Room was clean & inviting. Liked the full sized refrigerator & kitchen set up. Loved the full sized coffee pot in the room! Nice looking breakfast in the AM although we didn't partake. Enjoyed our stay!

My family and I (2 adults and 5 kids) were on our way back to PA after a 2 week vacation in SD. We had stopped at a Staybridge in Madison on the way to SD. A five star experience was had in Madison, so we changed our route home, just so we could hit up another Staybridge hotel.
I called when we were on the road, about 4 hours away asking for a 2 bedroom family suite, we were in luck, they had one available. We arrived on a Thursday night, just after social hour ended. I checked in quite easily, the lady at the desk seemed very nice. After going outside to my car to help unload the rest of the family, I remembered to ask for a crib, so I went back inside to the desk where the lady at the desk was on the phone taking a personal call. I went up to the desk, but didn't introrupt her phone call, waited patiently while she continued to talk for another 5 minutes and then she hung up, I asked for a crib and was told that "yep, they'll get one up to my room ASAP".
When I got to our room I was surprised to walk into a 1 bedroom suite. So I texted my husband and asked him to stop at the front desk to see if they had any 2-bedroom suites available. He was told that this was not a 'normal' staybridge and they don't have 2-bedroom suites. (If I would have known that I would have changed our route again and stayed somewhere else!) It was already 8:30pm local time, the kids and mom and dad were exhausted from a 10 hour trip (so far) and just wanted to go to bed, so I thought "well, if the beds are good, and we sleep well, who cares where we sleep."
We got the older 4 kids to bed in the Bedroom, and our toddler changed and settled down... but wait! We still don't have a crib!! My husband went down to check the status of the crib and we were told "We don't have any." By the same lady who told me that they'd get one to our room ASAP. So they supplied us with blankets and pillow to help our son be comfortable on the floor.
We finally got our toddler settled to bed on the floor, and my husband and I pulled out the sofa bed, assuming that since it's a Staybridge and everything else they do is usually high quality they're going to have good quality sofa beds. Boy were we dead wrong.
It was a horrible night of sleep for my husband, my toddler, and I.
The springs from the sofa bed were felt in every position and were squeaky, and it sloped toward the middle with more springs. If it was winter and I was cold, the sloping it wouldn't have been such a big issue, but it was summer, we were both hot and sweaty, and didn't wan't to sleep touching each other.
And my son kept rolling around on the floor, off of his 'bed', and removing the covers, so he kept waking up and crying. I was up and down all night with him, and my husband kept waking to his cries as well.
To top it off, in the morning my husband went to the front desk to hand in our keys, he was able to talk to a manager who told him that yes, they did in fact have cribs available. UGH!!
I came away from that night exhausted, not looking forward to another 10 hour drive, and quite upset at the Staybridge hotel and staff.

When I checked in with my disabled mother, we had to remind the desk clerk to give us keys. The two rooms were very clean. My mother had a handicapped room which was farther from the front desk that my non-handicapped room. Her room was close to an exit but there was no handicap ramp. Another problem was that she could not get her walker past the corner of the built in corner desk and eating area and the couch. I tried to move the couch but the lamp is bolted which made it very difficult for a handicapped person to get through. At midnight, I was rudely awakened by my door opening up. Luckily I had the lock bar over so he could not enter. The gentleman said he was given a key to room 107 and that was my room for the preceding 6 hours. I was alarmed by the whole deal to say the least. I mentioned this to front desk staff next morning but they just shrugged. Another con, the eggs tasted like powdered eggs and the muffins and such were not covered by a cover as they sat out. I hope this matters get cleared up for the next guest.

For a no smoking hotel it was easy to know that someone had smoked in the room we had for our two night stay. The hotel is showing it age and is in need of a major update. In our room there were places where the wall had been spot printed my guess to cover up damage done by families previous to our visit. I would not go back to this hotel.

Super nice hotel with great managers reception & wonderful breakfast. Nice suite with comfortable beds & very quiet. Will definitely stay here again. There is even a grill on the patio out back for guests & a cute little lake to walk around. We were impressed!

We had a great one night stay at this hotel. Rooms were very spacious and quiet (even though we were near the elevator). Super comfy bed, nice linens. Free wifi is always nice and was extra special to us as we were able to connect with our son who just got engaged. The full kitchen is awesome. Very convenient to have a full fridge with freezer and ice maker. We did not use the stovetop. Breakfast was good. Food was fresh and tasty. Nice layout for the buffet and table seating. My only recommendation would be to add a garbage can near the waffle maker to dispose of the batter cups and perhaps a bin for the dirty dishes....minor stuff.
Hotel is located near to shopping and interstate. The pool and hot tub are also open 24 hrs. We did not experience the social evening as it was a weekend stay. We got a billing under our door in a.m. even though we had booked on priority points but the staff dealt with it promptly.

I am one that does not like to complain, but I come through Des Moines quite a few times a year. And I always like to stay here at this location. The only problem I ever have here and it happens to me most of the time, but I don't get a USA newspaper because they are always gone or given to the other guests that stay more than one night at a time? I have been a PLATINIUM CLUB MEMBER for several years now, staying in hotels about 100 + per year, and I was under the impression that platinium club members are supposed to get the USA Today newspaper regardless of how many nights you stay? The gentleman at the front desk in the morning is not very friendly when I ask for a newspaper, always says they are for the other guests that stay longer than one night? Oh well, I will get over it. Just thought I would write something since I always get asked to fill out a survey. Thanks for your time and again, so sorry to complain.

I would stay here again. We came down for the weekend and it is in a great location. The only issues that we had were that there were baseball teams that stayed there also so it was a little loud in the hallways till about 11:00. Wallpaper and caulk in the bathroom had issues but overall a good experience.

If you are in the city of Des Moines you MUST check out this hotel. I guarantee you, that it will take only one visit and you will be back again and again.
The staff is AWESOME!! Friendly and most helpful.
The rooms are very clean, quiet and spacious with plenty of room for my computer, my files and all my other nick nacks.
Breakfast foods provide a large variety from delicious oatmeal(my favorite) to fruit, yoghurt, eggs, sausage or ham,bakery items, juice and coffee.
From Tuesday through Thursday in the evening is happy hour ,with beverages and food. Often times when I return to the hotel, I am too tired to go anyplace for food and so I eat right there. What an excellent value!!!!!!!!!
I travel very often with my work and I have stayed at many hotels, but this property by far is my favorite.
Staybridge Suites, you are my home away from home!!!

Was late at night when we arrived and was very easy to find.
Like the suite, quiet, no outside noise. The bed was firm. The room is nicely arranged. Awesome beakfast buffet, very well supplied and nice variety. Wonderful, helpful, friendly staff. From front desk, to housekeeping, food preparers, maintanance, every one did an outstanding job to make us feel welcome. Like the pool hours. Will stay again when in area.

This was one of the best hotel experiences I've had in recent times! I chose this property because we had stayed there a number of years ago and had had a pleasant stay. This time I was travelling with my small dog and found it to be the perfect spot. The 2 room suite was really nice, since the bedroom is away from the door/hallway. This was a nice quiet place for the dog's crate. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen was great to have. I felt this room was a great value compared to other hotel offerings. My only negative comment is that the temp. control units were rather loud and hard to regulate.
I will definitely stay here again!

We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The beds were very comfortable and having the kitchen facilities in our room made it much more convenient than any standard hotel room. The staff were very friendly and super helpful with recommendations and directions. The hot breakfast had a nice daily variety to keep it interesting and the evening food and beverage reception was above and beyond what we have experienced anywhere else. This was our first stay at a Staybridge but it will be our first choice from now on.

We have stayed at this site on numerous occasions and have always found the staff to be very pleasant and accommodating. The rooms are large and comfortable. The breakfast buffet has numerous choices, hot and cold. The staff is readily available to meet our needs.

Our recent stay at the Staybridge Suites in Clive, IA could have been a disaster when our toilet flooded late one night. The flooding was cleaned up but we had to move to another room. Although, the room available was not what I had requested and paid for, the hotel clerks were wonderful in finally setting us up in a great suite to enjoy our grandchildren for Christmas. Adrian was extremely pleasant and helpful and we would not have had all the amenities working correctly (fireplaces, DVD, phones, etc.) without Cary's help. He is simply the best. Jessica, the manager, discounted our stay and was also extremely professional and helpful. We truly enjoy the amenities at this hotel which is why we chose it again for our stay. The hotel is very warm and cozy and we were taken care of very well while the blizzard occurred. We like Staybridge Suites and this one is very good. Thank you all and Happy New Year!!

I was not as pleased with the Des Moines stay as I was the Davenport stay. There was a mix up with our room upon check in, I had to remind them I was a priority member to get welcome bag and the breakfast was disappointing. It was the same thing both days, there was only 1 person working the area so she was doing the cutting of fruit, refilling the food and cleaning the tables. It was busy and she was behind most of the time. She kept a smile on her face the whole time. Bless her heart! There were little bugs in our bathroom and I had to request linen for the sofa sleeper as there was not any in the room.
