Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and great service Kindest hotel staff I have ever dealt with. Easy check in which is always a pleasure! June 2, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent motel right off of I-80 We stayed here last year and found it to be the best motel of our entire trip to Colorado from Wisconsin. We returned this year and found it to be just as good. Only thing is we missed the social, which occurs on Tues. through Thurs. nights. But the front desk sent us to a great restaurant nearby called "Granite City." We hope to return for a more extended stay later this year and again on our way home from Colorado in 2015. May 31, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wouldn't stay anywhere else I have stayed at Staybridge on several occasions and never have had a bad experience. The staff is great and the hotel is superb. February 12, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff!! The staff at this property is splendid, from the General Manager to the front desk, housekeepers and the maintenance department, everyone is so great. They are kind and professional. They make you feel like you are at home. The social on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays is awesome. The rooms are spacious, it was like being in a studio apartment. I would stay here again and again. Can't wait till my next trip to West Des Moines. January 17, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice place, but... Was surprised to find that a nearby room had a dog in it and the dog barked quit a bit at night, disturbing my parents sleep. We have stayed at Staybridge probably a dozen times and this is the first I've seen of a dog in the rooms. A couple of concerns about that: 1) the noise they make obviously 2) the filth that these animals can bring into a room and us knowing that we may be sleeping in beds that a dog has recently shed in, slobbered on, peed in, etc. I would feel much better about staying at Staybridge again if I knew that either a) dogs were not allowed, or b) that there was a "dog section" so to speak where dog owners can stay and sleep in rooms other dog owners have slept in and listen to the noise other dogs make. Conversely, those who don't bring animals in would not have to hear that noise or sleep in beds that other peoples animals have slept in. So far as I can help it, i do not plan on staying at Staybridge again as long as I can find a no-dogs motel or a motel that confines dog owners to rooms in a particular part of the building. Thank you for reeading my review. January 16, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay for the thankgiving holiday This was a great hotel close to the families house with convience of being close to shopping and the highway. We traveled 11 hours from Kentucky and we needed sleep before the thanksgiving lunch. The best was so awesome to sleep in we fell right asleep immediately. Plenty of yard for the dog to walk and in a quiet neighborhood. The breakfast was good with waffles to satisfy the appetite and plenty of choices for breakfast. The free newspaper was great for Black Friday store ads to get our shopping itinerary in order with the family. We enjoyed this hotel we recommend to stay in this hotel. January 8, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Place Everything was great, including the free dinner and breakfast that we enjoyed. The only exception was that the front desk clerk was overwhelmed with guests so I waited for about 5-10 min before she could check me in and the door lock on the first room we were assigned didn't work. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Value! We enjoyed out recent stay at the West Des Moines Staybridge. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast the next morning was very good. Better than a lot of more expensive hotels. Would defiantly stay again, maybe for a family reunion. January 1, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Place My wife had a work thing over the weekend so I took my three small kids to meet her for the evening. They loved the big room with the kitchen, the pool, and breakfast was good. For the value and location this is a great hotel. December 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Great Place To Stay My sister and I were looking for a pet friendly place about half way between the Twin Cities and Kansas City. What a surprise when we arrived to find a wonderful living room, kitchen plus all the amenities and a beautiful walking path too. Our experience with pet friendly places is that that are somewhat sub standard. I will definitely stay at this place again. November 29, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel and Great Value When in Des Moines overnight I try and stay here. The staff is friendly. It is a very good value. The rooms are clean, very roomy, and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast is included in the morning. I highly recommend the Des Moines Staybridge. November 26, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place to stay This is the third year that our family has gathered for a holiday celebration and stayed here. We love it and that is why we keep coming back. The staff is super friendly and greets you like family every time you go thru the lobby. We love the roominess of the rooms and the fridge and dishwasher help with our celebration meals. Sleeping is great because you don't have any noise from the hallway or rooms above or next to you. I highly recommend Staybridge! November 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Made it right I booked 2 double queen rooms and when I arrived I was told they only had 1 double queen due to a booking problem. Instead of bringing a rollaway into a single king room they took it a very large step further and replaced the double queen room with 2 king bed rooms/suites that were adjouned. And of course only charged me the double queen price. I was very appreciative and Matthew at the front desk was awesome in the transaction. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Thanks November 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Credit Card Only?? Reserved the room with credit card. When we arrived I told the clerk I would be paying cash. She related I would have to pay by credit card only. I related I didn;t have an issue with her keeping the credit card on file, just don;t charge it for the room charges and I would pay cash. Nope, she wouldn't do it. I like to pay cash and see no reason why they can't keep the credit on file until I check out to cover any damages. I understand that, but like to pay cash and not have it on a card. Never had this issue with any other major hotel in the country. Was an awesome hotel and everyhting was awesome. However, only allowing credit card for payment, I wont be back. November 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Outstanding service and accommodations We were greeted by Matthew who was very personable and professional as he made us feel welcome. There were four of us staying in the room and an additional two who were joining us for cards. The room was large enough to have a table and six chairs so we didn't have to play in the eating area on the main floor. (We borrowed some chairs from the meeting room) Matthew called us after a couple of hours to make sure everything was okay with our room. Breakfast was outstanding and the complimentary local paper as well as USA Today were greatly appreciated. I would definitely recommend this lovely property for either a short-term or long-term stay! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place! This is my favorite place to stay in Des Moines when I am in town for a meeting, IHCA is close by. In fact when I come to Des Moines on leisure I also try to stay here! I recommend Staybridge to my co-workers, peers and family! They probably think I have some financial stake in the hotel, (I don' October 22, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by always a pleasure We have just recently started using the IHG chain. So far we have not been disappointed. The rooms have always been clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and makes you feel welcome. October 18, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bright Lights While our suite was quite comfortable and we took advantage of the nice breakfast we can't give the highest marks because of the extremely bright lights in the parking lot. It was like a flood light pouring into our room under the curtains. We had to put a pillow on the AC to try block out the light. October 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Weekend Family Visit We enjoyed a beautiful autumn weekend at this hotel in West Des Moines while in town visiting family. Our suite was so relaxing and the breakfast buffets were exceptional. Our room was quiet, clean and the staff extremely nice and friendly. Our puppy accompanied us and was also welcomed warmly and settled in without qualmns. We have decided to make this our hotel of choice when we need to overnight in WDM. The room rate was fair and a far better deal than other hotels nearby that aren't as well appointed. October 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice clean hotel We had 2 nights in Wes Des Moines and nice & clean. Nice location for shopping and lots of restaurant near hotel. October 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable Bed Very nice rooms, lobby area, and staff. Very accommodating for our large group including lots of last minute changes to our rooms, etc. September 25, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service Tammy and Rene were both very courteous and accommodating - excellent staff. Thank you very much for your hospitality! September 8, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Decent stay, good value for the price The room was clean and updated - except for the bathroom which had peeling paint and crumbling tile. The price was good and the pool and gym were well maintained and breakfast provided was great with a big selection. Overall, it was a good stay. The only other problem was housekeeping for the stay is not provided on weekends or holidays and we stayed over both so we went from Saturday to Tuesday with no service. So we had lots of trash and needed towels and coffee. September 8, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overnight, week long friendly Have enjoyed at least two stays here...rapidly becoming hotel of choice in DSM area for Pet friendly and home like qualities with great facilities and outdoor ambience. August 22, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location & attractive looking property Customer service was great at check in. Paperwork was easy & room key was ready & waiting. Appreciated the recommendations made for dinner in the area. Room was clean & inviting. Liked the full sized refrigerator & kitchen set up. Loved the full sized coffee pot in the room! Nice looking breakfast in the AM although we didn't partake. Enjoyed our stay! August 13, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Rough night sleep... My family and I (2 adults and 5 kids) were on our way back to PA after a 2 week vacation in SD. We had stopped at a Staybridge in Madison on the way to SD. A five star experience was had in Madison, so we changed our route home, just so we could hit up another Staybridge hotel. I called when we were on the road, about 4 hours away asking for a 2 bedroom family suite, we were in luck, they had one available. We arrived on a Thursday night, just after social hour ended. I checked in quite easily, the lady at the desk seemed very nice. After going outside to my car to help unload the rest of the family, I remembered to ask for a crib, so I went back inside to the desk where the lady at the desk was on the phone taking a personal call. I went up to the desk, but didn't introrupt her phone call, waited patiently while she continued to talk for another 5 minutes and then she hung up, I asked for a crib and was told that "yep, they'll get one up to my room ASAP". When I got to our room I was surprised to walk into a 1 bedroom suite. So I texted my husband and asked him to stop at the front desk to see if they had any 2-bedroom suites available. He was told that this was not a 'normal' staybridge and they don't have 2-bedroom suites. (If I would have known that I would have changed our route again and stayed somewhere else!) It was already 8:30pm local time, the kids and mom and dad were exhausted from a 10 hour trip (so far) and just wanted to go to bed, so I thought "well, if the beds are good, and we sleep well, who cares where we sleep." We got the older 4 kids to bed in the Bedroom, and our toddler changed and settled down... but wait! We still don't have a crib!! My husband went down to check the status of the crib and we were told "We don't have any." By the same lady who told me that they'd get one to our room ASAP. So they supplied us with blankets and pillow to help our son be comfortable on the floor. We finally got our toddler settled to bed on the floor, and my husband and I pulled out the sofa bed, assuming that since it's a Staybridge and everything else they do is usually high quality they're going to have good quality sofa beds. Boy were we dead wrong. It was a horrible night of sleep for my husband, my toddler, and I. The springs from the sofa bed were felt in every position and were squeaky, and it sloped toward the middle with more springs. If it was winter and I was cold, the sloping it wouldn't have been such a big issue, but it was summer, we were both hot and sweaty, and didn't wan't to sleep touching each other. And my son kept rolling around on the floor, off of his 'bed', and removing the covers, so he kept waking up and crying. I was up and down all night with him, and my husband kept waking to his cries as well. To top it off, in the morning my husband went to the front desk to hand in our keys, he was able to talk to a manager who told him that yes, they did in fact have cribs available. UGH!! I came away from that night exhausted, not looking forward to another 10 hour drive, and quite upset at the Staybridge hotel and staff. July 23, 2013
