Must See

See Budapest from the waters of the River Danube. Upon its banks the Hungarian Parliament building stands opposite the Buda Castle and Fisherman’s Bastion. The Roman Catholic St Stephen’s Basilica is named after Stephen, the first King of Hungary. The Neo-Classical building remains to this day the most important church in the country. Housing a stunning interior with intricate paintings.

Must Do

Budapest is called the “City of Spas”. More than 118 natural thermal springs deliver 70 million litres (15.3 million gallons) of therapeutic waters to the city daily. Our tip is Széchenyi, Gellért, Rudas baths. The ruin pubs are unconventional hangout spots and nightclubs set up in abandoned buildings – have become the highlights of Budapest nightlife. Most of them are found in the Jewish Quarter.

What's New

City Park is under rejuvenation and many museums will move here in the coming year like the Museum of Music, Museum of Ethnography. The existing Museum of Fine Arts shows now its renewed face and high level exhibitions can be visited. The opposite standing Art Gallery is in its final phase of renovation. Hungexpo is now in modernisation by building a new 3-level congress centre and 2 new halls.

Don't Go Home Without

The Great Market Hall promises an adventure in culture and retail therapy offering up traditional Hungarian clothing and local delicacies such as local sausage, foie gras, paprika powder. Built in 1897 this magnificent venue holds more than 100 stalls over three floors housed in a Neo-Gothic-style listed building Hungary is famous of its wine having 22 wine regions. Try Tokaji, sweet dessert wine
