Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre opened in 2022 and is Christchurch's ‘gathering place’. Te Pae is handily a few minutes from the Hotel. A key part of the regeneration of the city, the Government's investment in Te Pae is a catalyst – not only for growth and development of the city, but as a way of building lasting social, cultural and economic connections between the region and the world.

Dress for the weather, Christchurch temperatures ranges from 10-23 degrees (C) in summer and 1-15 degrees (C) in winter. The Christchurch Tramway is a great way to see central Christchurch. The Tramway runs through the Arts Centre, Cathedral Square, New Regent Street, and the Canterbury Museum Visit the restaurants and bars in nearby New Regent Street, St Asaph Street, or Victoria Street.

Take a Christchurch Tramway tour through the city, the tram runs on a loop through the city centre visiting many attractions. If the weather is fine, visit the Christchurch Botanical Gardens and Canterbury Museum in Hagley Park. For some retail therapy, try the Re:START Mall on Cashel Street. Or for a spectacular view over the city from the Port Hills visit the Christchurch Gondola near Ferrymead.

Christchurch Adventure Park

The Christchurch Adventure Park is set on 358 private hectares in Christchurch’s Port Hills. The Adventure Park is a resource that is utilised by the local community as well as domestic and international visitors with uphill climbing tracks, a fully licensed cafe as well as a series ziplines. The Park sets a new benchmark for mountain biking internationally with the first chairlift specifically designed for mountain bikes and their riders open all year round.

International Antarctic Centre

Hagley Park

It is spread over 164 hectares featuring the Christchurch botanical gardens, Hagley golf course, sports fields and the Avon river. A key focal point for the Christchurch community since it’s opening in 1855, the park also features the Canterbury Museum and is a short walk from the Arts Centre and Christchurch Arts Gallery.

Christchurch Gondola

Located in the Heathcote Valley just 15 minutes from central Christchurch, take a ride to the top of the Port Hills in 4 person cabins. The Christchurch Gondola offers panoramic views over the city towards the Southern Alps and the hills of Banks Peninsula.

Punting on the Avon

A journey along the Avon River is a popular Christchurch attraction. You’ll be seated in a flat bottomed boat (piloted by a ‘Punter’) departing from the historic Antigua boat sheds. Follow the path of the river through the city and the tree-lined banks of Hagley park.

Christchurch Tramway

Enjoy a ride through Christchurch’s city centre on board restored heritage Trams. The knowledgeable drivers will inform you about the city, its landmarks and local sights. Your day-long ticket allows you to get on and off the Tram as often as you please! The journey takes you to the appropriate stops for Punting on the Avon, and the Caterpillar Tour of the Christchurch Botanic Gardens..
