Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens and Ropeway

Located approximately 10 minutes on the ropeway from Kitano-cho, this leisure spot features almost 75,000 herbs and 200 variations of flowers, and offers a stunning view of Kobe. The Herb Guided Tour, on which you can touch the herbs and enjoy their fragrances, and various fun events ensure that you will fully enjoy a beautiful day surrounded by beautiful scents.

Nunobiki Waterfall

Fukiai-cho, Chuo-ku, Kobe, Hyogo 651-0058

Waterfall flows at the middle of Ikuta River on the mountain side of Shinkobe station and is one of the sources of Kobe water. It consists of Odaki, Medaki, Meotodaki and Tsuzumigataki. Especially Odaki, the famous water fall 43 m high.

Must See

Make your way to Nunobiki Falls where 4 gushing cascades break the silence of the forests of Rokko mountain. The cave to the rear of the powerful 43-metre Odaki falls is regarded as a dragon's palace, a 15-minute walk from ANA Crowne Plaza Kobe.

What's New

The new Rokko-Shidare Observatory stands at the summit of the Rokko mountain. Its futuristic design of interlocking frames recall leaves on a tree and allows it to blend with its surroundings. Ask our Guest Relations Manager about reaching it by cable car.


Kobe's mid-May 'Kobe Matsuri' festival attracts a colourful exhibition of street markets, samba dancers and fire-eaters. Locals adorn costumes as they join the parade on Flower Road. In winter, millions of lights illuminate the city to mark Kobe's Luminarie.

Take a 10-minute ride from ANA Crowne Plaza Kobe up Kobe Nunobiki Ropeway to Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens, where a tangle of 200 different herbs grow on the slopes of the Rokko mountain. There are stunning city and ocean views from its glass house terrace.

Don't Go Home Without

Visiting the merging of cultures at Kitano-Ijinkan, 500 metres away. These foreign residences recall the arrival of the first Western settlers and are open to visitors. Look out for the brick-built Weathercock House and the wooden Moegi House.
