Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex

The Kitchener Farmer's Market is one of the oldest continuous local farmer's markets in Canada. The market is located in Kitchener, Ontario and reflects the continued relationship of Kitchener with the Mennonite community (especially with vendors selling meats and baked goods) and farmers that continues to exist in the area. The market is open weekly on Saturdays year-round and has more than 80 farmer/vendors. Different stalls sell a variety of wares, including fresh produce, raw & cured meats

Schneider Haus National Historic Site is a dynamic community museum located in downtown Kitchener. A local landmark, and Kitchener's oldest dwelling, the 1816 homestead was restored and furnished, then opened as a living history museum in 1981.The heart of the complex is a fine Georgian-frame farmhouse that was built and was home to the area's earliest non-Aboriginal settlers, Joseph and Barbara Schneider, Pennsylvania-German Mennonites.

Tropical gardens fluttering with around 2,000 butterflies & exotic birds with a café & gift shop. Situated on a 107 acre site which includes the environmental sensitive Kossuth Bog, the 25,000 square foot facility includes a 10,800 square foot indoor tropical garden featuring 1000’s of free flying butterflies from all over the world, over 100 different varieties of tropical plants, waterfalls, streams, reflecting pools, tropical finches, Chinese painted quails and red-eared slider turtles.

It is a non-profit heritage railway that is owned and operated by the Southern Ontario Locomotive Restoration Society. In May 2007, SOLRS received joint approval from the Region of Waterloo and the City of Waterloo to run trains from Waterloo to St Jacobs and potentially as far north as Elmira. The train runs three times a day on Tuesdays (June to August), Thursdays (May to October) and Saturday (April to October).
