Catch a Cardiff Waterbus service from Bute Park Jetty, adjacent to the hotel, and sail down the River Taff to Mermaid Quay. Once there, you can walk along Cardiff Bay Barrage, part of the Wales Coast Path, or stop at one of the many chic restaurants and bars lining the waterfront. Check out what's on at the Wales Millennium Centre, the premier Welsh arts complex, five minutes' walk from the quay.
Take in a rugby match along with a crowd of 75,000, or watch a concert by a big international band at the Principality Stadium. Wales's largest arena is a five-minute walk from the hotel. Join an interactive stadium tour to find out how it feels to lift a trophy in the President's Box. Your tour guide also takes you through the press suite and the Dragon's Lair, the Welsh team's dressing room.
If you're in the mood for retail therapy, make a beeline for St. David’s Dewi Sant, 13 minutes from the hotel on foot. There are plenty of unusual boutiques, as well as more established brands, among the 200 retail outlets here. Next door, you can visit the largest John Lewis department store outside London. And be sure to browse the old Victorian shopping arcades found throughout the city centre.
Learn about the history of the Welsh capital, starting with a tour of the Gothic Cardiff Castle, directly opposite the hotel. Take a peaceful stroll through the woods and lawns of Bute Park, once the castle grounds. The Cardiff Story museum, 10 minutes' walk away, tells the fascinating story of how successful docks transformed a small coastal town into the cosmopolitan city Cardiff is today.
