Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Unfortunate stay I agree with several posters that at check-in we were greeted warmly by the front desk. Our room was not ready but they stored our bags. Upon entering the room, it seemed clean but the carpets are old and appear dirty. We were there 2 nights. After the first night, we went sightseeing for the day. It was very warm and a member of our family was not feeling well. Upon returning to the hotel the keys did not work. We had to go down to get new keys and they seemed confused as to why they did not work for us. Finally opened the door to find at 4:30 in the afternoon our room had not been made up. We had a suite, so our son was on the pull out coach and it was still out, our bed was unmade and the bathroom had not been cleaned. We called and after 1/2 hour someone came to clean, but as a family member was not well, we opted to only take fresh towels. When we checked out and were asked about our stay, they seemed incredulous that we could have had the issues described. No apologies, just a "really". Very poor customer service. April 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't stay here The lobby is nice, and the front desk staff are friendly, but that's about all the good I can say about this hotel. The room was very worn and in disrepair, with paint peeling off the walls, and the carpet being gross. The bed was awful, mattress apparently several decades old, creaked with every slight motion, linens may have been washed but appeared extremely worn out. Pillows were terrible. Room is tiny, and I was told that I had been upgraded to a "suite". Bathroom had not been cleaned very thoroughly. My recommendation: While this may be one of the cheaper hotels in downtown Miami, this is not a good representation of the Holiday Inn brand. Do yourself a favor and spend a few extra dollars and stay somewhere else. April 23, 2016

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good and Bad Ist check in clerks were excellent. Room was ok, but it is a older hotel. Great location near Bay Market and port. Restaurant greeter friendly and excellent. Waiter was on the poor side hope he was having a bad day. Over billed us and we had to complain. Swimming pool was dirty and was used by hotel customers for a smoking area, (This was suppose to be non=smoking hotel) April 12, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A great stay before a cruise I love this hotel. The rooms are clean and the accommodations are pleasant. The location is very convenient for a cruise. There is a mall across the street for hanging out, listening to live music, etc. The Miami Heat also plays across the street so we were able to watch a game the night before our cruise. It was great. My only comment is that the restaurant is sub-par. They push a breakfast buffet and will not even offer a menu. After asking for one, they discouraged me highly since they said that anything ordered would take 45 min to 1 hour. I wanted to order 1 over easy egg and a cup of fruit. I found this ridiculous! They also build gratuity into the bill. We ate their 2x and the first time the receipt didn't print correctly. We added gratuity too so the waiter got double the tip. Won't make that mistake again. Finally, the restaurant and bar are only open during meal times. If you would like to order a drink and sit near the pool, then you are out of luck. The 4 employees standing behind the bar toldl me to walk a couple of blocks to CVS for a drink. I know that this is not a luxury resort, so I guess you get what you get. Next time, I will certainly not support the restaurant at his hotel. April 5, 2016

This was shockingly dirty - I know sheets aren't always changed - pillow had hair - the bathroom was covered in urine and the counters had some white creamy substance next to the sink - gross April 4, 2016
