We are a family of 4. We enjoyed our stay. The pool and breakfast were great amenities for the kids. I would definitely go back. The only room for improvement was the pull out sofa had a very thin mattress with uncomfortable springs making it rather unusable. The kids just slept on the couch cushions and were fine. Staff was nice, everything was clean, I'd recommend the property to others.

Holiday Inn Express: no other hotel will do when you're on the road. They're simple and straightforward. The staff is the best part of the experience, though.

My recent stay was the same as any other at this location. Front desk staff was friendly and welcoming. Housekeeping staff as always did a nice job on the room and were friendly in passing.
The location is convenient to work at SBU and Suffolk County Community College. A few dining options nearby, but to get a larger variety you might have to drive a few miles.
Overall I have always been pleased with my stay at this location.

I've stayed at a ton of HIX locations and I wasn't thrilled with this one. I'll start with the positives though. The property itself is very nicely maintained, with nice landscaping surrounding the hotel, and several outdoor recreational areas. It seems more like a full service Holiday Inn than a HIX.
My problem was with the room itself, as well as the IHG rewards club recognition. When checked-in there was a very lackluster attempt at recognizing IHG status. The staff should be re-trained in providing the appropriate amenities and upgrades based on tier level.
The room was a bit outdated and was damp/musty. The shower knob was broken so there was no way to change the water from ice cold to hot. Other parts of the room were in disrepair and the housekeeping effort was minimal at best. I probably would stay elsewhere if back in the area.

Before my wedding I had a chance to check into the "luxury" fifth floor suite. It was a basic room with twice the space. No effort was made to make this any sort of luxury. Basic furniture, basic bed and basic ammenities with a "luxurious" bar in the room. They could have attempted to put higher end furnishings at least.
Im a little disappointed with the basic layout of the "luxury" suite.
