Built in 1904 as Astoria's City Hall, this building is now home to the Clatsop County Historical Society's regional museum. Explore the history of Clatsop County through temporary and permanent exhibits featuring Native Americans, early pioneers, immigrants, and local industries. The Society's Research Center and Archives are also at this location.

Flaval House Museum

Experience the elegance of the late Victorian period by touring the home of Captain George Flavel. This 1886 Queen Anne home features original Eastlake influenced woodwork, period furnishings, and exotic hardwood fireplace mantels. Begin your tour at the Carriage House Visitor Center (located behind the house on the corner of 7th & Exchange Streets), which houses additional exhibits, the museum store, and orientation video.

Fort Clatsop National Historical Park

Fort Clatsop was the winter encampment for the Corps of Discovery from December 1805 to March 1806. The visitor center includes a replica of Fort Clatsop similar to the one built by the explorers, an interpretive center offering an exhibit hall, gift shop and two films. The center features ranger-led programs, costumed rangers in the fort and trailheads for the Fort To Sea Trail and Netul River Trail as well as restrooms and a picnic area.

Fort Stevens State Park

Once a Military Defence installment Fort Stevens now offers camping, beach-combing, freshwater lake swimming, trails, wildlife viewing, a historic shipwreck, and a historic military fort make Fort Stevens a uniquely diverse park. The park also boasts a network of nine miles of paved bicycle trails and six miles of hiking trails that allow you to explore a variety of habitats including spruce and hemlock forests, wetlands, dunes, and shore pine areas.

Historic Waterfront

The Astoria Riverwalk, also known as the Astoria River Trail, stretches the entire length of the city's waterfront, connecting restaurants and breweries, museums, and dozens of other attractions. It passes under the Astoria-Megler Bridge, the largest truss bridge in the world, arcing out across the Columbia River toward the hazy hillsides of Washington State.

Riverfront Trolley

A restored 1913 trolley runs for 2.6 miles along the Columbia River in Astoria while the conductor provides interpretation of the area’s history and attractions. Catch it anywhere on the riverfront between Basin and 39th streets. Roundtrip ride is $1, an all day pass is $2. The round trip takes about an hour.

The Liberty Theatre

Oregon Film Museum

he Oregon Film Museum celebrates the art and legacy of films and film-making in the State of Oregon.Since The Fisherman's Bride, in 1908, Oregon has helped give birth to such classics as: The General The Great Race One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest Paint Your Wagon Animal House Kindergarten Cop ...and, of course, The Goonies. In fact we have movies listed on this website. Some refer to Oregon as "Hollywood North."

Youngs River Falls

The Youngs River hurtles over a large wall, veiling 54 feet into a pool locked in by large gravel bars. The falls are somewhat unique in that the base is located only about 10 feet above sea level.

Hanthorn Cannery Museum

You can see historic canning equipment, experience the inside of an industrial freezer, and imagine yourself standing in one of the historic gillnet boats used to catch the fish. The museum is striving to recount the story of 130 years of community/cannery history with photos, boat displays and Bumble Bee artifacts.

Columbian Theater

With a single movie showing daily at 7pm, The Columbian Theater is a great place to relax on a couch and watch a movie with friends. Balcony seating available for those 21 years of age and older. Movies are newish releases that have not yet been released to DVD.

Cape Disappointment

Cape Disappointment State Park offers 27 miles of ocean beach, two lighthouses, hiking trails, camping and the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. Perched on a cliff 200 feet above the mouth of the Columbia River, the center tells the story of the Corps of Discovery's journey, focusing particularly on their Pacific Coast stay. It's a wonderful stop for families, with interactive exhibits that let children try to pack a canoe without tipping it.
