Manzanar National Historic Site was where the internment of almost 120,000 Japanese Americans was during World War II. It is the most well known of the internment sites in the U.S. The site itself is open daily from dawn to dusk. An unique formation called the Devils Postpile, 2 miles North of the beautiful 101 ft. high Rainbow Falls. Closed for the season starting on October 29 until approx. the 2nd week of June, depending on weather conditions.

Bodie is a preserved gold mining ghost town. It's open all year, though in some parts of winter is only accessable by snowshoes, skis, or snowmobiles. It is located NE of Yosemite National Park. Take 270 East from 395 for 10 miles until the end of pavement, continuing for 3 more miles on dirt road. Summer- 8:00am to 6:00pm October- 8:00am to 5:00pm Winter- 10:00am to 3:00pm

Ride around the beautiful Eastern Sierra's

The world famous Dutch bakery centrally located in Bishop, across from the city park (not to be confused with the Schat's Bakery in Mammoth Lakes that does not have the original recipes). Delicious favorites are the Jalapeno or the Chili or the Plain Cheese breads and the Honi Squaw wheat bread. A very crowded place during midday but not to miss when in the area. The deli closes at 4:00pm.
