A Museum for the American Style Water Pumping Windmill and Related Exhibits on Wind Electric. The purpose of the AMERICAN WIND POWER CENTER, as a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, is to interpret the relations of humans, the environment and technology through the medium of a museum of wind power history.

The mission of the Buddy Holly Center is to provide world-renowned interactive and dynamic exhibits and programs on Texas Music and contemporary visual arts. The Center collects, preserves and presents artifacts, materials, artworks, and exhibitions consistent with professional museum standards. Programs are designed to motivate public interest and cultivate an atmosphere where art and music collide- leading toward a creative community.

Lubbock Texas area are rich in heritage and contributions from many gifted people in the field of music and entertainment. To preserve and share this rich heritage the Lubbock "Walk of Fame" was dedicated September 6, 1980. Buddy Holly contributed to the music heritage of not only West Texas, but the entire world as a musician and composer. It is significant that the first plaque on The "Walk of Fame" bear his name. The citizens of Lubbock pay tribute to and honor their native son. "1979"

Buffalo Springs Lake has Camping areas from Paved Water and Electric sites to No Hook-ups. We offer three new dump stations for campers with trailers. All the campgrounds have numerous shade trees. The tent camping area is covered with grass and is next to the water. The campgrounds are also close to the Golf Course and Children's Playgrounds.

The Cactus Theater is considered by many to be their main source of live entertainment in West Texas! Located on Buddy Holly Avenue, just off I-27 and 19th Street, the Cactus is just one of the great entertainment possibilities in Lubbock’s Depot District.

In 1992 a new vision emerged in the Texas Wine Industry with the debut release of wine from CAP ROCK® WINERY in Lubbock, Texas. Out of the flatness of the Texas High Plains rises one of the most beautiful wine making facilities in the country.
