Michigan State University, or MSU, is a top public research university in nearby East Lansing. Established in 1855, the university spans over 5,000 acres along Michigan's Red Cedar River. Along with offering excellent academics, the university houses a variety of cultural landmarks. These include the Beaumont Tower, the W.J. Beal Botanical Garden, and the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum. No matter what you want to see, you can easily bike or drive over to the campus from our Okemos hotel.

MSU Museum is Michigan's biggest public natural (and cultural) history museum. You'll discover all sorts of unique artifacts on its three floors of exhibits, which include both permanent and rotating displays. Learn about natural science and cultural history, especially as it pertains to the Midwest. The MSU Museum is the oldest in the university, with a founding date of 1857, and is Michigan’s first Smithsonian Affiliate.

Enjoy the stylish and spacious Broad Art Museum, designed by architect Zaha Hadid. This MSU museum showcases 10,000 items of contemporary art across 20,000 square feet of gallery space. You'll find exhibits that focus on food and agriculture, exquisite collages and sculptures, and lots more. Some installations, like the permanent CORE exhibit, offer art that spans 5,000 years of history.

Spartan Stadium is home to the renowned MSU Spartans football team. Opened in 1923, this historic venue seats over 75,000 screaming fans on game day. There's nothing like the electric game-day atmosphere you'll find at Spartan Stadium! You can also visit the stadium for non-sporting events, including concerts and community gatherings.

Watch MSU's basketball teams come alive in the Breslin Center, an indoor sports complex that seats over 16,000 fans. If you're visiting MSU for graduation, there's a good chance you'll be visiting the Breslin Center to see your graduate march across the stage. From concerts to sports games to community events, there's always something happening at the Breslin Center.
