This place was clean - the staff was friendly and helpful and it was across from the beach! My friends and I loved it and will definitely be back - they said the pool was heated but I wish it was about 8 degrees warmer ! would highly recommend this hotel!

Me and my lady stayed here for a day, just to get away from everything for a little. The staff are super friendly, the room was clean, the view was awesome. Overall, we had a good experience. We plan on returning again in the next couple of months :)

The pool area is amazing, there's a nice view with the beach across the street. The beds are comfortable and the front desk workers are very friendly and knowledgeable about there job. I know it's a no smoking hotel but I love the fact that they have a couple smoking areas around the property with a bar being on site. One of the best hotels I've stayed in. And the breakfast buffet is worth the money! I will definitely stay here again.

Great resort! Across the street from the beach. Newly remodeled and great live entertainment in the fantastic lounge.
Stayed Sunday night and the younger front desk lady was extremely rude

There are too many other hotels in the area and will not be staying at this location again due to the rudeness from the experienced staff the night of 5/4/25. She would not listen to my questions and refused to let me speak to a manager. I am rethinking my loyalty to the IHG group
Check-in one hour and get escorted out the next hour

We’ve always had a great experience here. Even got engaged there last year. On April 27 we witnessed very poor management treatment of employees and said something. The bar manager Joey decided that equaled kicking us out of the hotel in the middle of the night.
My experience at Holiday Inn Resort Galveston

I called before arriving and requested adjoining rooms. I was told that I would need 2 Queens to for adjoining and I advised that was fine.
Upon arrival:
*I realized our rooms were changed to 2 Queens, but they weren't adjoining. I asked to have them changed back to Kings and was refused although my original reservation was for King and not 2 Queens.
*I was told they would move my room to 701 when the guest checked out but that didn't happen. I was told at one point it wasn't going to happen.
*My co-worker and I were checked into the wrong rooms. I was checked into hers and she was checked into mine. I didn't catch it until the following day. My reservation was 4/23-4/30 and co-worker was 4/23-4/29.
*They had to move the reservation over from room 702 to 703 for the last night which caused all parking to show under room 702. I was told they were unable to provide parking receipts yet the last day I waited 30 minutes to obtain it.
*I will say this is the worst experience I've had with an IHG property. I book room for my nurses throughout the year. I've been using another chain for the Galveston area and after this experience will continue doing so.

i drove from NW Oklahoma to galveston and had talked with staff at the hotel earlier the same day. they asked what my expected arrival time was and i said between 12am and 12:45am. i arrived at 12:30am to find they had cancelled my reservation and sold the room. finding a hotel in galveston on a saturday night is hard enough but harder to find one to accept ihg points. i had to stay at a candlewood multiple miles from the beach and had to pay 190 dollars for the night. hard to budget a vacation around whether the hotel is randomly going to cancel your hotel reservation. i’ve been a diamond elite member for a few years now and this is the only ohhh hotel i’ve had this happen at.

Inform customers about the construction in advance and let the customer decide if they still want to stay! Also, manage your parking better. The hotel allows customers visiting the bar downstairs to take all of the available parking. Make sure you have designated areas for the customers that are staying in the hotel. I was told to park around the corner at another hotel until the bar closed. Big inconvenience!
OAN: the staff was great! I will give them their flowers!

We enjoyed the hotel, near beach location.
Staff members were friendly, and provided excellent service.
We didn't dine in the hotel, so unable to comment on that.
Overall a great time in Galveston!

I have been a priority club member pretty much since it's inception in the 80's. I enjoyed my recent stay and appreciate the fact that Holiday Inn has invested the money to do a major update on the facility. The guest rooms looked great with all new features ( bedding, furniture, floors. etc.). The updated lounge looks awesome and I do appreciate that you have live music during the weekends.
Our server Epharam did a very nice job of taking care of my wife and myself when he noticed our drinks were low. I had a nice conversation with one of your managers who was working the lounge, Joey, and he was also very attentive and made sure we were taken care of.
So many of the older full service Holiday Inns ( lounge and full service restaurant) that I have stayed at over my 40 Plus years in sales have since been bought out and are no longer Holiday Inns. The Emerald Beach location in Corpus Christi and the Holiday Inn on San Bernardo in Laredo for example. I have stayed at this location on and off for years and do appreciate that the company keeps it a Holiday Inn and has invested the money to keep it updated. I am retired now and don't travel as much as I used to but will continue to stay at IHG locations when available.
