Last minute quick stay

Quick, single night stay to shorten a long drive, we left the previous hotel early and booked this one 3 hours before we arrived. Hotel was nice and clean. Room was quiet, didn’t hear any noises inside or outside the hotel. Bed was comfortable. Showered before I left previous hotel so didn’t use this one. Breakfast seemed limited on options, but still good, not a big complaint on my end. Easy check in. System was down for whatever reason when we checked out so couldn’t access the option on the app, dropped the key cards in the box and left.

I made a reservation at 9pm for 2 queen studio with full kitchen at Candlewood Suites in North Platte, NE. I show up at midnight to check in and am told that these rooms are over booked and the only thing they have for me is an Avid room with a king. Is this how you take care of Diamond Elite members? If it wasn't so late I would have gone to a different hotel.
The TV in my room was stuck in 'headphone' mode so I had no volume. Called the front desk and they had no idea how to fix this. So much for being able to hear any TV shows. Also, room 132 had a leaking toilet that kept running at times through out the night, and the motorized shade would only open half way.

We have stayed at this location several times and the rooms are always clean and comfortable, and the staff is very friendly and welcoming to us and our dog. The breakfast options are more than adequate, and the coffee is always top notch. I love the option of having tea in the evening before bed.

Dirty hotel

For a brand new hotel, it was very dirty. The bathrooms/ showers weren't clean and hair found around the sink. The hallways needed vacuumed and the general use areas dirty as well. Otherwise the location was good and rooms had potential.

One bed had no sheets and was not made. Trash was in the room and no towels were available in room. I regularly stay at this hotel when traveling and typically have no issues. This time the room cleanliness was far below expectations. Thankfully the front desk staff supplied towels when asked. But walking into a room that obviously was not cleaned and prepared for a guest when reservations were made in advance persuaded me to stay at a different location on my return route.

This hotel was above our expectations. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable.

The lobby and outdoor music was so loud that I barely slept. I’m usually a pretty sound sleeper so very unusual for me to only get 2.5 hours of sleep. I also experienced a discrepancy on my bill. I waited roughly 30 minutes for anyone to come by the front desk and was informed I’d have to speak with a manager who hadn’t started work yet. Needing to start my 10+ hour drive, I asked to have the manager call me when they were able. No call was received.

There was no body wash in the shower or on the counter. Trash receptacle at breakfast was right in front of the breakfast items, requiring you to lean over it to get the food.
