The room was excellent with a few tips to make it perfect. Check dispensers of soap etc and make sure they are working. Figure out a way to turn off the auto on feature of the bathroom light. It is not pleasant to use restroom in middle of night and have bright light come on. If there is a way to disable this, please make it known.

The internet issues need to be resolved. Lack of internet to continue working results in disruption. Staff needs to receive more training. Perhaps taking advantage when there is internet, preparing for next day’s needs should be considered.
This is a new hotel, but attention to issues need to be addressed.

The hotel was right on the feeder of I-10 making it convenient to get to. The room was OK and the hotel is pet friendly, although they charge a fee per dog. It served our needs while passing through Van Horn.

Small but certainly adequate room for a quick 1-night stay. Clean and comfortable with a modern look and feel throughout. Although we missed the normal hot breakfast buffet like at a Holiday Inn, what was offered was still good and served its purpose. Overall, I would definitely recommend it.

I was greeted at check-in. Great ambience of the hotel, and friendly hotel staff. Definitely will visit this place again!

There are no in room microwaves at these hotels. Ice machine is on the first floor. For these reasons will not stay again. Also, Google maps at this address sent us to the Capitan hotel instead of Avid. Apparently, this has happened to others.

This is a basic hotel with no in room coffee maker or large closet but it was very new and tastefully decorated. The beds were very comfortable and spacious as was the bathroom. Not a big vanity in the bathroom .
The staff was very gracious and helpful. They were delightful and cheerful.
The breakfast was very good. It was basic with no wafflemaker but they did have Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches that were very good. There was a good selection of name brand yogurts and cereals.
It was so good that I was looking for another hotel like this for the rest of our trip and could not find one.
Could not beat the price.
Almost forgot-nice spacious gym area.
Only con was not much in the town of Van Horn.

the hotel staff apparently has the habit of being rude and also turning their phones off so no one can reach the front desk for whatever reason. the girl working at first i thought was friendly, but quickly became snarky and rude towards me once i needed to be accommodated with a crib from the holiday inn next door (that was booked up for the night) she called someone from her personal phone who wasnt working to get the number of the person working next door instead of just calling the other hotel. when i suggested we call, we said “you can call, if they even answer” i called, no one did, i walked over carrying my child to get the crib. (the person working other hotel helped bring the crib over to this one…) after finishing checking in, she asked if i needed assistance bringing the crib to my room, i said yes please, she rolled her eyes and rudely said thanks for being a member while handing me my room key. also said my room number out-loud for the men behind me to hear, i travel a lot, normally im handed my key without mention of my room number when others are in the lobby…
she was rude to me when i asked for help putting the crib together too… i have never had to put the crib together for myself to use at any of the IHG hotels i have stayed at… i didnt think i was asking a big ask. idk. thanks for doing it anyways tho.
anyways, the room walls are PAPER thin, i could hear everything someone in another room was doing. loud noises all hours of the night on and off, i could hear everything from the freeway right across the street too. i was tossing and turning until almost 4 something in the morning & i over slept my scheduled time to leave …. 6am >.< the bathroom light turns on automatically which was annoying as i was trying to not wake up a baby…
when checking out, i tried to be kind to whom ever was working the front desk by saying hello, good morning, she rudely replied, didnt look at me or offer me my bill when i was dropping my keys in the box. like i said i travel a lot, and honestly, it always surprises me when i run into rude staff at IHG hotels…
plus side of my stay was the clean room. thats it.
i do not recommend this hotel to anyone even passing through. its not worth dealing with unhappy folks here or the terrible sleep you will end up with. i recommend you either stop at a town before this one, or keep driving by LOL (maybe try next door at holiday inn?)

I was on a road trip and this palce was easy and good price for a one night sleep on a long driving trip.
Comfortable bed in a clean room, support my friendly accomodating staff.

Need a place to stay for a quick night's sleep on a road trip from California back to Texas. So glad we chose this hotel. The staff greated us as we walked in tired and road weary, and seemed to really care about making our stay enjoyable & restful. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the included breakfast was sufficient to get us ready for more road tripping back home. I would not hesitate to stay there again.
wedding ring stolen

Wedding ring stolen. Left it on the night stand and instead of letting us know, the staff pocketed it. Other places have let us know if we forgot something even much less valuable than this. Will consider filing a police report, but hope the hotel deals with it first.
The room was nice and clean. Bed very comfortable.

I was traveling for work and didn't feel up to driving back after a long day of meetings. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel is very cozy, nice and clean. They had a lot of choices for the on-the-go breakfast. I will definitely recommend Avid.
