The Maya Museum of Cancún at km 16.5 on Boulevard Kukulcán houses one of the most comprehensive collections of pre-Columbian artifacts in the Yucatan Peninsula. Three permanent galleries cover Mayan history from early settlements through the post-classic period, with over 400 pieces including carved stelae, ceremonial objects, and skeletal remains. Entry includes access to the adjacent San Miguelito archaeological site.

Puerto Maya Cancún is an adventure and eco-tourism center in the Hotel Zone built around its signature Jungle Tour: high-speed jet ski excursions through Nichupté Lagoon combined with a Mayan cultural experience and snorkeling. A hotel near Puerto Maya puts one of the Hotel Zone's more distinctive excursion operators within easy reach for a half-day or full-day program.

The Cancún Center sits at km 9 on Boulevard Kukulcán in Punta Cancún, the Hotel Zone's commercial hub. With over 152,000 sq. ft. of meeting space across 13 halls and a main room with a capacity for nearly 5,000 people, it is one of the largest convention facilities in Mexico. Guests at a hotel near the Cancún Convention Center can reach it in minutes along the boulevard.

Ventura Park is the Hotel Zone's full-scale amusement and water park, located at km 25 on Boulevard Kukulcán. Six themed zones cover water slides, a wave pool, a lazy river, zip lines, go-karts, a rollercoaster, virtual reality, and dolphin experiences. Guests at a hotel near Ventura Park can get there and back without the logistics of a longer excursion.

Playa Delfines at km 18 is the Hotel Zone's widest and most undeveloped public beach, with no resort infrastructure between you and the water. Free palapas, parking, restrooms, and lifeguards are all on site. The iconic Cancún sign is here too. Staying at a hotel near Playa Delfines puts one of the city's most photographed stretches of Caribbean coastline within a short ride.

The El Rey Archaeological Zone is a compact but well-preserved Mayan site directly across from Playa Delfines on Boulevard Kukulcán at km 18. More than 40 structures are spread across the site, including ceremonial platforms and a main pyramid. Large iguanas have made it their own and are part of the visit. A hotel near the El Rey ruins gives guests one of the most accessible archaeological sites in the Hotel Zone, walkable and typically uncrowded.

San Miguelito is the larger of the two Mayan sites inside the Hotel Zone and sits adjacent to the Maya Museum of Cancún at km 16.5 on Boulevard Kukulcán. The site covers several plazas, a main pyramid, and residential structures that give a clearer picture of the scale of the original settlement than the smaller El Rey site. Entry is included with the museum ticket.

At km 12.5 on Boulevard Kukulcán, La Isla sits on the lagoon edge with canals, open-air walkways, and a mix of boutiques, restaurants, and entertainment. The 70-meter Sky Wheel offers views over the full Hotel Zone. The Interactive Aquarium is inside the complex, and the waterfront dining strip along the lagoon draws guests for the views as much as the food.

Inside La Isla Shopping Village, the Interactive Aquarium runs touch pools, ray feeding, shark dive experiences, and dolphin swim programs alongside its permanent exhibits. The largest tank doubles as a wall of the adjacent restaurant, which remains one of the more unusual dining situations in the Hotel Zone. Booking ahead is recommended for the swim and dive programs.

Kukulcan Plaza is a large enclosed shopping center at km 13 on Boulevard Kukulcán, one of the Hotel Zone's older retail anchors. It covers a wide range of shops, including jewelry, fashion, souvenirs, and duty-free, alongside a food court, bowling alley, and cinema. Less polished than La Isla but more practical for guests who need multiple things in one stop.

The Nichupté Lagoon ecosystem lines the back of the Hotel Zone for its entire length, a network of interconnected waterways and mangrove channels that support crocodiles, birds, and a range of marine life. Speedboat excursions, kayak rentals, and guided mangrove tours depart from multiple points. The lagoon is accessible from the boulevard and offers a completely different side of the Hotel Zone from the Caribbean beaches.
