Alexander Nevski Cathedral

Alexander Nevski Square, Sofia,

The golden domes of St. Alexander Nevski Cathedral will enchant all guests, as it is located just across the road from InterContinental Sofia. The Cathedral is among the three largest Orthodox temples on the Balkans and its stunning exterior can only be surpassed by the magnificent religious adornments inside. The cathedral was built in late 19th century in Neo-byzantine style. It can hold up to10,000 worshippers and was declared a cultural monument with national importance in 1924.

Ivan Vazov National Theatre

St Ignatius Deacon 5, Sofia,

Located only a short walk from the hotel, the building of the National Theater is strikingly attractive. Built in 1907 by the Austrian architects Helmer & Felner, this theatre is the oldest in the country and an important landmark of Sofia. Positioned at the heat of a park area, the place is extremely popular among locals for casual strolls and weekend café meetings. Plays are in local language, however, you can still sit out front at one of the many cafes and soak up the atmosphere.

National Opera and Ballet

The building of National Opera and Ballet truly sets an elegant and majestic ambience to elate your senses under the spell of internationally renowned artists and spectacles. Opened after WWII, this is the oldest and most prestigious Bulgarian opera theatre. Sofia History Museum

1 Banski Square, Sofia,

A tradition since the Roman age, this building stands on former Ottoman municipal bath. Nowadays it hosts a permanent exhibition of the Sofia History Museum, having reopened after restauration in Sept 2015. In addition to the permanent exhibits there will also be temporary exhibitions and there is a special room for children to get their hands on Sofia's history.

Boyana Church

This small and ancient church is on Unesco’s World Heritage list and its frescoes are rare survivors from that period, fine examples of Bulgarian medieval artwork

Borisova Park

Borisova Gradina, Sofia,

Sofia’s biggest and best known park, it was named after Bulgarian Tsar Boris III and now home to the Vasil Levski Stadium and CSKA Stadium, as well as several statues, tennis clubs and children play areas.
