If you have just half a day you may enjoy exploring some of the best local artists that reside in Little Italy. There are over 40 galleries and shops located on historic Mayfield Road and Murray Hill and they also sponsor seasonal art walks.

Cleveland’s Playhouse Square, comprised of nine performances spaces, is the country’s largest performing arts center outside New York City and is the home for touring Broadway shows, concerts, comedy, opera and dance performances. The original five venues were built in 1921 but in the 1970's restoring and reopening the theaters one by one Playhouse Square became a major focal point of the downtown Cleveland’s revitalization.

East of downtown Cleveland, experience one of Ohio’s most vibrant (and appetizing) cultural neighborhoods. Established in the 19th century by Italian immigrants, the walkable historical enclave today brims with trattorias, pizzerias, bakeries, shops, art galleries, and wine stores. Look for the colorful murals that detail stories from the surrounding neighborhood.

University Circle is the cultural epicenter of Cleveland with classical institutions like the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Cleveland Natural History Museum, along with a myriad of smaller galleries. Located in historic Wade Park, The Cleveland Museum of Art harbors an impressive collection, totaling more than 60,000 works of art. Cherished for its extensive Asian masterworks, the museum displays artwork that spans some 6,000 years and includes a multitude of genres.

Explore Cleveland’s verdant nature on two wheels. Along Lake Erie’s northern shoreline, the Lakefront Bikeway beckons, while the Emerald Necklace Trail system loops amongst the suburbs. Take the Towpath Trail to glide along part of the Erie Canal’s original route.
