Humiliating experience

On December 28th of 2022, we stayed at Staybridge Suites Wilmington - Brandywine Valley. Around 6pm we went to dining area for the Social Hour. There were fish sticks served with small amount left. When the serving plate was empty, the server (with name tag Greta) took out some more. 15-20 guests were there with more people joining. For both two servings, my son got only few (with other guests waiting in the line, everyone got only a few), far from enough for a 16-year boy. When some more were brought out, my son got in the line trying to get some more. Then the most unbelievable thing happened: Greta raised her voice at him, “Really? For the third time?” My son stood there still, embarrassed and blushed. I went there, asking her, “Is there a rule on how many servings a guest can have during Social Hour? Many other people took two, three or even more servings (depending how much they could get each time), but why are you only picking on my son?” While Greta didn’t answer my questions, she kept repeating that she didn’t have enough fish sticks for all the guests. During the whole argument, no manager came to the scene.

Comfortable and quiet rooms. Average breakfast with limited options. Beds were little uncomfortable to sleep on and seemed little old but manageable. Overall it was okay.

Monday through Wednesday evening snack and beer and wine are complimentary. This is just one way they make you comfortable for the same price as comparable stays. Over all experience was excellent. And it is an IHG hotel so you get the points.
