no ice machine and no pool

April 22, 2015

Ice machines are behind construction area. They took out the pool since the last time we visited. It was easy to hear high school kids in the next room.

Hotel is improving and have been very good at addressing known issues. Will not recommend yet but in time and continued great service my previous poor experience will be forgotten. Thank you for taking care of your loyal customers.

great service

April 20, 2015

The Hotel is great. Customer Service is Excellent! I LOVE the valet service especially! The construction going on didn't bother me. My only complaint is the smoking. They must have been smoking in the room next door. The smell was so strong I thought I was in a smoking section outside. I hope they paid a fine for it, I wasn't sure if I should have notified the front desk or not.

Greetings Hazel201, Thank you for your time and effort(s) writing us a review; we truly appreciate all of the guest reviews we receive. I am pleased to read that you enjoyed our newly renovated rooms and that our service met your expectation for the brand. As you had mentioned we are undergoing renovations to become an InterContinental hotel, still within the IHG family of brands. We are a non-smoking hotel, other than designated areas. I most sincerely apologize for any discontentment this experience may have caused. Please always feel free to notify the front desk if you have any problems at all. We are here to ensure that your stay is as it ought to be in regards to our rules and regulations, as well as your preferences. Again, thank you for your time and we hope to welcome you back to our Hotel in the near future. Kindest regards, Ian H. (Social Media/Guest Relations Coordinator)

Some good, some not so good

April 18, 2015

The room was beautifully furnished, with actually interesting art on the walls - one of the only hotels where that's been true when I've stayed. The room did not have enough light, however, and the light switches were hard to locate. The concierge told me I'm not the only saying that and they are planning changes.

The wifi is HORRIBLE. Ridiculously slow.

Restaurant was under construction, so things were discombobulated, but the staff did their best to make my stay pleasant. Outstanding customer service from the front desk and restaurant staff.

Greetings Julia007, Thank you for taking the time to write us a review; all of our guest reviews are exceedingly important. As you had mentioned we are undergoing renovations. Once renovations are complete we will launch as an InterContinental hotel. As a part of our re-launch we will indeed be replacing all of the guest room lights because they can be difficult to use. You had mentioned the art on the walls; they are all parts, buildings, and places in Saint Paul with a modern color splashed-flare, I’m glad you enjoyed them. As for the WiFi speed, that is another area in which we are working to boost connectivity and speed. I apologize for any frustrations during your stay and we do hope to welcome you back in the near future. Best regards, Ian H. (Social Media/Guest Relations Coordinator)
