Our room was very nice with a great view of the river. The hotel location was great and we were able to walk to our conference at the River Center.

Negative Experience at the Crown Plaza

The Crown Plaza in St. Paul, River front location, FAILED to communicate that they are doing CONSTRUCTION remodeling to their property, prior to making the reservation and FAILED to communicate this while checking in to their hotel. Due to their FAILURE to communicate this information, my party of guests were disturbed by noise related to the construction work from the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The hotel FAILED to act professionally and respectfully, and instead guests were surprised by this information when construction noise began at 9:00 a.m.! This disturbed sleep and an intended restful vacation!

The hotel was also failed to emphasize to guests that quiet hours begin at 11:00 p.m. Many youth hockey teams also stayed at the hotel during our stay. Noise disturbance was an issue with the hockey teams. Finally at 2:30 a.m. when the youth hockey team was still partying next door to our room and making absurd amounts of noise, finally the front desk came and asked that they should be quiet. No issues with noise followed that incident as the team checked out in the morning.

The hotel parking lot was also a major DISAPPOINTMENT! Parking gates were continually out of order, requiring new parking passes to exit. To gain a new parking pass, you needed to exit the parking garage and return to the front desk lobby. Major inconvenience when there are cars behind you in the parking garage. Parking issue happened each morning of our stay. At the front desk each morning they reassured us that the problem was not fixed. It was not.

The hotel also FAILED to book our reservation correctly. It required correcting their mistake three times. Finally on the fourth time they got the reservation correct. Had I not caught their mistake, they would have charged me for an additional room, at my expense!

I DO NOT recommend you staying at this hotel or hotel location.
