Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Hotel in St. Paul Pros - decor is great staff helpful and friendly some views are awesome location science museum close nice rooms and TV Starbucks in hotel Sundry items need to be purchased about 2 blocks away, but less expensive that way. nice pool area Cons no in room safe room a bit tight restaurant cannot cook rice or risotto at all sleep by number bed - just ok October 31, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Watch out for falling ceiling (and your stuff too) This hotel is in a nice location, but maintenance is poor, at least it was in my room. The bathroom ceiling apparently had a leak from above and paint (at least I hope it was only paint) was falling in big chunks during my entire stay. Pair that with the fact that half of the lighting in the bathroom was not working, and I'd say it was a less than desirable accommodation. The worst part of the stay occurred when I tried to use the exercise room. It was so small, that even though I arrived at 6:30am, 5-6 people in the room meant there were no available machines to use. I went for a jog on the streets around the hotel, instead. Unfortunately, when I got back to my room, I took my iPod off and laid it on the bed. I forgot to pack it when I was leaving, so, as you can guess, it "wasn't in the room" when the lost & found went to check after I had checked out. I know the "hotel is not responsible for lost items", but I have stayed at other chains where treatment of guests wasn't so shameless. October 30, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Room very nice. Employees very helpful, polite and courtious. Room was roomey, beds were comfortable. October 30, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love you all You are my first choice for St Paul hotels primarily because of your staff and service although your riverfront views are wonderful! October 30, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Nice Hotel in Downtown Saint Paul Excellent hotel with some luxury features. Great downtown location. October 29, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Enjoyable Stay Hi everyone was very nice and very helpful especially Debbie at the front desk. Who I visited a few times for assistance. Also, Chris the bellman was helpful handling and helping me with my packages. October 29, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by shower products and wireless You need to change to better/different shower products, shampoo....I heard several others complain about it, too. I was there for a conference and several of the meeting rooms had limited or no wireless connection. This was troublesome. October 27, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible bed and poor service Made reservations a month in advance for a room with king-size bed. Checked in and went to the room - had a murphy bed and a couch that looked like something I might have had in my apartment in the 70s (dated and filthy). When I called the front desk I was told they were sold out and they offered to discount the room by 50%. While on the phone with the front desk my wife announced "there is urine in the toilet". I relayed that fact and they ended up comping the room. Would have moved to another hotel but only had an hour until the reception. Worst Crowne Plaza I've ever been in. October 26, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by wedding reception We worked with Rachel to plan our event and she was fantastic. She was knowledgeable, flexible and attentive to our needs and desires. Her staff provided an excellent venue, and we have many happy memories of the reception. October 26, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Night Stay Overall, this was a nice place to stay. Staff was nice, rooms were clean. However, I felt the lounge prices to be a bit high. If you want someone to stay, you need to price accordingly. October 26, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Average hotel with good quality staff The best I can say about this hotel is the service the staff provided including front desk and room attendants. But the facility really needs to update -- internet speed is like snail, and signal is overall weak; elevator is tiny and extremely infrequent; and the gym is just rudimentary. October 26, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Stay was "just okay". The hotel appears to be "dated" and the room was a bit shabby. I'd had a coffee with soy milk from the coffee shop in the lobby and the soy tasted sour - plus I had to pay $1.00 extra for using soy instead of regular milk. I won't pick the Crowne Plaza as my first choice for a hotel next time I'm in the St. Paul area, but would stay there if nothing else was available downtown. It was an average hotel. October 26, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The most wonderful bed, and a great staff! I make infrequent but regular visits to St. Paul, and would not want to stay anywhere else. I sleep incredibly well here. My room had a lovely river view and was like a comfortable cocoon, perfect after a long work day or a challenging meeting when you need a retreat. The room service staff was fast and friendly, as were all the other attentive and smiling staff members with whom I interacted. I will look forward to my next visit. October 25, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location and Service The staff was personal and welcoming. Had a great time. October 25, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by beware double booking at this hotel After confirming our reservation by phone before arriving and the group we were with checked and confirmed our room and that we were coming soon , they were told our reservation was ok, but when we got there the hotel did not have our reservation and we had to go from a room with two beds to one bed. The staff made some cost reductions and gave us parking, but we still were not in the area with our group and were disappointed. This does not make us trust this hotel for the future group events. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Geat hotel, a real Crown Plaza I loved the location and the walking distance to so many places that makes the place more of a vacation spot than bussines hotel. I had the opportunity to walk by the river, go the the Egyptian exhibits at the Science Museum, go to great restaurants in the area and shopping, all within few bloks. I look forward doing that again. One small problem your breakfast is not up to the hotel, it belongs somewhere else not the Crown Plaza River Front St. Paul. October 24, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed, very friendly and helpful staff, clean I enjoyed my stay so very much. My allergies, which are usually very bad in hotels were minimal, which tells me this hotel is clean. My bed was so comfy. I have not slept through the night in a long time but I did at the Crowne Plaza Riverfront in St. Paul, MN. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Our conference area was beautiful. The restaurant lunch was not so great but not the worst I have had. The breakfast / coffee cafe people were awesome and fast. They could probably use two people in that area in the early AM. I noticed the hostess from the restaurant did come over to help. She was very sweet. The bar was fun and the location is great. I visited restaurants, museums, and sang karaoke right down the street. I would love to stay in this hotel again. Wild Tymes, Meritage, Pazza Luna, Amsterdam, and American Burger Bar are within walking distance. October 24, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Dining We had a very nice stay and enjoyed the Minnesota Coaches Hall of Fame Induction dinner on Saturday night. However, we were disappointed in the Sunday breakfast buffet. Food was luke warm, at best. Would have preferred to order from a menu. October 20, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great service major plumbing problems Upon our 10 pm check in we noticed that although the room seemed generally clean, there was a large amount of nasty black dirt in the bottom of our tub. When we called the front desk, they immediately sent someone up to clean it. We were given 2 complimentary breakfasts. All was well. After returning to our room late Saturday night, the same thing in the tub! Really gross. I went to the front desk early Sunday am and explained the problem. They gave me 50% off our stay. I feel that was acceptable, but I think they should figure out the problem before renting out that room again! The staff was great. We had a great stay, minus the dirty tub! October 19, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Service above and beyond I would like to point out one employee in particular. I don't know the correct spelling of his name, but he told me to call him "Ish". Ish was the shuttle driver for the St. Paul-Riverfront Hotel. My flight coming into Minneapolis was late and I was in the wrong terminal. I was booked for the last shuttle of the evening and was running to get there. He waited for me knowing I was on my way. He and I had a very nice conversation on the way to the hotel and he pointed out key areas of the city since it was my first time. I saw Ish in the lobby almost every night. He told me about areas of the city that would be ideal for running. He also went out of his way to shake my hand and ask how I was doing. There should be more employees like Ish. October 18, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great room, comfy bed We had a corner room on 13th floor with great view of river and trains. Sunrises beautiful. The evening dinner in the lounge was only okay, we did better having room service. The beds were great. The staff will try to accommodate you. October 14, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nothing special Was attending a meeting at the hotel. The hotel location is good but the parking is a bit of a joke: $17 if you have a car that fits into their tiny archaic parking ramp or $19 if you have a bigger car and want the valet. (THE VALET SERVICE WAS PROBABLY THE BEST THING ABOUT OUR EXPERIENCE - THOSE GUYS ARE FRIENDLY & WORKED HARD!) When booking the room, I got static from the desk the meeting block was full. Instead of honoring the block price they wanted to charge me another $60 per night for a room. I had to the call the meeting organizers, have them call the hotel and reserve more rooms before they would honor the meeting price (never mind they had DOZENS of rooms available). When I checked in the front desk staff was adequate but tried to get me to sign someone else's reservation (had a higher price on it) -- the other guy wasn't too pleased to be paying $30 more per night than I was...oops! The room was average but had an old heating system that made an inordinate amount of noise when turned on. Housekeeping: average and the pool is in need of a makeover. The staff working the meeting was very friendly and food served was good. Not a bad place, on the whole, but sure could use some sprucing up with some of the details that might make a stay great for a guest. October 13, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Review for 10/6-7 There was a Wedding at the hotel the same weekend as the TC Marathon. The wedding party was loud until 2am. Not a good combination. Wedding wanting to party & marathon wanting to sleep. Wedding party "passed out" at 2am. I woke up at 5am. So I got 3 hours of sleep. Plumbing is also EXTREMELY loud. October 13, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by customer We were very happy with our stay! Nice hotel and location. Excellent staff! October 11, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great visit I was in St Paul for only one night and staying at the Crowne Plaza was very convenient. When the temperature took a turn, it was great to be connected to the skyway. I was able to visit my client without experiencing the extreme cold! October 8, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by St. Paul good location...need bigger beds in the double rooms....treated Priority club members very well October 5, 2012
