Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Rooms...BUT We stayed at the St Paul Crowne Plaza once before and had a nice time, however this time we were less than impressed. While the staff was wonderful, the price was not worth it. The Hot tub was as warm as the pool, which was actually warm for a Hotel Pool. The room was nice, great bed, comfortable but around 2am we heard our neighbors almost as if they were in our room! Breakfast in the Morning at the 11 Restaurant was not worth $30! Our omelettes were under cooked, the oatmeal cold, the scrambled eggs tasted like cardboard. We could have gotten a better breakast at the Starbucks that is located right across the hall! Our weekend away was not as great as we expected, very disappointed in the cost and delivery. December 7, 2012

I was able to connect a few days later with your hotel directly. I was so happy with how helpful your representative was and my issue was resolved quite easily. Also it was quite the bonus for us when we got to our room on the 16th floor and saw the view. It was spectacular. We actually took pictures and spent some time gazing. Parking was very convenient, as well. Our stay was pretty much effortless. November 21, 2012

Great location to arena, walking distance (about 8 mins) nice walk along waterfront, beautiful hotel, staff were very friendly and helpful. The food in the lounge below par (returned our food) and the breakfast brunch was VERY minimal for the price you pay. Would absolutely recommend this hotel, just eat elsewhere. November 20, 2012

There was no counter in the bathroom, and because the hair dryer covered part of the electrical, I could not plug in my curling iron. I did plug the curling iron in at the desk - but then there was hardly any light. This room temperature was so cold over by the window. We did put the heat on but was so noisy - we had to turn off. There were also disgusting stains on the curtains! Gross! The litttle parking lot was full so we had to walk down the block. Surprised to find the parking was an extra $30! Your location is great, however not worth the price. Long lines checking into the hotel. You should consider a reduced rate for breakfast - since you don't offer contential breakfast. Pool closed too early to actually enjoy. I was very disappointed to say the least. There is room for improvement! November 18, 2012

We first got a room on the second floor, in a handicap room but inquired at the desk for a different room as we did not need that type of room. He gave us a fantastic room on the 20th floor with a superb view. Staff are very available to assist in making your stay a pleasant one. The pool and hot tub were also fantastic. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by I expected more... The pictures provided on the website made it seem like a great choice to stay at for the night of the Madonna concert. Staff was really friendly and had a beautiful lobby. The rooms are little to desire. The pictures do not do just to what the hotel was really like. The pictures may be an overall view or perspective of the different Crown Plaza's they have and may not represent the one you stay at. The Riverfront in St. Paul, MN is an older building with an updated feel. The only problem with my room was that the toilet was located in a ackward spot, right next the bathroom door, barely missing it while opening the door. In other words the washroom wash tiny for a room with a waterfront view and king size bed. A friend was staying in a different room, it had a living area but no actual bedroom but a hide a bed in a cabinet. She was not impressed. Overall, the stay was good but unsure if I would return to that location again. November 11, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Average service Upon checking in, we were given the smallest king room I think they had. It was an awkward layout and tucked into a corner. Our ceiling had mold growing on it by the air vents and the bathroom wasn't very clean. We also "checked in" to the hotel on Four-Square and were to receive 10% off our stay. The front desk stated that since the room was a pre-pay they couldn't refund us the 10% but offered to give us our parking for free. Upon checking out, they not only charged us for parking but ignored us when we were trying to explain to the receptionist what the previous receptionist had guaranteed us. On my statement they did charge us the full amount, only to refund our parking days later. Not really impressed...next time I'm staying at the Holiday Inn down the block. November 11, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Okay stay I give this hotel an average overall rating. The room was clean, but nothing spectacular and on the small side. The beds were comfortable, but it lacked sound-proofing so I didn't sleep that well. The parking ramp was very cramped and had you worried it would take the top of your vehicle off and pricey. The location is was good and walking distance to every place we wanted to go. The water was NOT hot at all. There was only one sink and the bathroom was very small which made getting ready for everyone difficult. I would recommend staying here if you want a great downtown location for a decent price. I would not recommend if you are looking to be "wow'ed". November 10, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable rooms, accomodating staff. Visited St. Paul for a 3 day conference. Chose to stay on site for the conference & glad we did. Hotel Staff very nice & helpful when we had questions, rooms comfortable. Did not have a chance to use pool or workout area, but seemed nice. Was dissapointed that the hotel restaurant is not open for supper & closes at noon on Sundays. Can get food in the lounge but not a lot of comfortable seating. Food however was good & the hotel catered the conference lunch & that was very good as well. Small ramp for hotel parking fills up at night. If you travel out at night to eat you may not have a spot when you get back. But there are some good places to eat within walking distance. November 8, 2012

But looked tacky and would have thought for the price of the room would have been in better shape. When making the reservation some of the staff could not find group we were under. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not really a 4 star I understand there are certain standards for a four star hotel. Great view, nice ammenities, etc. The hotel certainly has all the bones to be a 4 star and I could see that at one time, it was. Valet parking is great, the restaurant and bar are convenient. It was certainly busy and felt like you were at a metropolitan place. However, when you get to the room, not so much. The wallpaper was peeling, it looked small and run down and overall, it was just tiny. I had a river view which was great but I couldn't even plug in my curling iron, the bathroom was so small. The bed was nice and comfortable but that was about the only great thing about the room. The elevator was incredibly slow and 1/2 of the time it was broken. We took to the stairs most of the weekend. The pool was neat but the hot tub was colder than my normal bath. In fact, Sunday morning it was actually unusable it was so cold. The hallways were noisy and the people in them noisier so I probably wouldn't stay here agin. November 5, 2012

The Windows Room on the 22nd floor of this hotel is the perfect place to host a wedding reception or any other major event you need to plan. The view was so fantastic that we hardly had to decorate. Many of us who hosted and attended the wedding reception for our daughter and son-in-law, stayed at the hotel that night. Everyone raved about their rooms. After staying in some sub-standard hotels recently, I had almost forgotten how clean a hotel room should be! In any case, the Crowne Plaza staff was very helpful from the valets, bellmen, front desk, event planner, to the wait staff, security and maintenance, they were courteous, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I was cioncerned about how worn and dated the event room looked in the daylight, but once the table cloths were on, decorations were up and night fell, it was magical. I will try to stay there much more often, when events bring me overnight to St Paul. Thank you all! November 3, 2012

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Location worked This was the recommended hotel for a race my husband and I ran and I have to say the location worked great. We were within walking distance to all events for the weekend. The bed was just so-so even though it was a sleep number. The control never showed what number it was on and it was hard to adjust. The rooms are VERY NOISY...there seems to be no sound dampening built in to them and I was constantly woken up at night with people yelling in the hallways from a wedding and from doors slamming. The hot tub was not so hot either. The pool was almost as warm as the hot tub was. The location was great for us, but overall we were not impressed with the hotel itself. The people at the desk were great. Parking is a little expensive and the structure is extremly tight and not high enough for big suv's or trucks. The room however was clean...i walked around in my socks and they did not turn black! November 2, 2012

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Watch out for falling ceiling (and your stuff too) This hotel is in a nice location, but maintenance is poor, at least it was in my room. The bathroom ceiling apparently had a leak from above and paint (at least I hope it was only paint) was falling in big chunks during my entire stay. Pair that with the fact that half of the lighting in the bathroom was not working, and I'd say it was a less than desirable accommodation. The worst part of the stay occurred when I tried to use the exercise room. It was so small, that even though I arrived at 6:30am, 5-6 people in the room meant there were no available machines to use. I went for a jog on the streets around the hotel, instead. Unfortunately, when I got back to my room, I took my iPod off and laid it on the bed. I forgot to pack it when I was leaving, so, as you can guess, it "wasn't in the room" when the lost & found went to check after I had checked out. I know the "hotel is not responsible for lost items", but I have stayed at other chains where treatment of guests wasn't so shameless. October 30, 2012
