Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Our LA JOLLA trip We just spent the past month at this location for medical procedures. I must say the manager went out of his way to make our visit as comforting as possible. He even had staff bring in a special shower head and shower chair. The entire staff was made aware of our special needs and they did all they could to accommodate us. The maids adjusted the cleaning of our room to meet our special needs. The manager continually checked on us to be sure we were taken care of. The breakfast chef did an excellent job of helping us. The office clerks were so friendly. One even printed out map quest for me so I could find where our medical appointments were. The pool was kept very clean all the time. It was only two blocks from a beautiful beach. We could not have asked for anything better. 30 March 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Would stay there again. We spent six nights here when we visited LaJolla. The proximity to the ocean was a five minute walk. There were four decent restaurants within walking distance. We also walked to the village several times and it was not too far away. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were terrific, good variety and delicious, both hot and cold choices. Didn't use the pool area, but it looked inviting. The valet parking was convenient. The valet staff was fast, helpful, and friendly. The only things were the construction and road noise. They are adding rooms and so it looked like a construction site should, but we weren't there during the day and they didn't work at night, so if you appreciated the price and ignored the construction, it was okay. The road noise was pretty loud, but we're used to triple pane windows in our home in the country so we slept with ear plugs in and all was well. We would stay here again based on the positives. 29 March 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good value for La Jolla hotel is undergoing construction, which wasn't a problem EXCEPT for parking, and that the room we stayed in could use an update. but maybe that will happen after they finish the new wing. we had a suite, which included a nice kitchenette, and sitting area, and a bedroom separate from a living area. the room was comfortable, clean and nice; the mattress was soft and sagging. Our bedroom had a window overlooking the pool area, which seemed nice except for the people talking at the table right outside our window, late into the night. Breakfast was ok; nothing fancy but very nice to not have to go out and find something. Walking distance (put your tennis shoes on) to a beautiful beach. Great value for La Jolla. Would try this hotel again after the renovation. 27 March 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Experience and Value Hotel is centrally located in La Jolla, you are just a few walking blocks to the beach, but you would have to drive to Downtown La Jolla. Room was clean and well put together, it felt up to date and well cared for. Staff was friendly and pool was nice alternative to the beach. Valet parking was complimentary, but can be incovenient if you come and go a few times during the day, or if you forget something in your car, but overall didn't wait more than a couple minutes for the car. Would definitely stay here again, very good value. 26 March 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice small hotel near great beach We had a hard time finding it - no signage as it is under construction. We were not bothered by noise from construction though. Pool was small but very nice with a spa and nice lawn chairs. It was never crowded and we were there on the weekend! Hard to find parking but they would valet park for you. Super close to a wonderful beach (within walking distance) and a few really fun restaurants. Very nice room though a bit small. Comfortable bed and very nice bathroom with walk in shower. We would definitely stay here again as we loved the area!! 26 March 2015

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Wi fi is purposelly done in the worst possible way... and is not functiona This place had pleasant staff. The beds we had were comfortable, and the rooms were properly cleaned daily. I would have not stayed there if I had known the wi fi was not functional... and as far as I can tell never is. They "tried" to fix it... but frankly, that would be like trying to bring to life a dead horse. The wi fi set up is less than archaic, and was never done properly. It appears to have been done only in order to make it legal to advertise that they have wi fi. No one I spoke to said their wi fi worked properly. We had one bar, and it did not work on any of our cells phones or computers. We had 4 computer savy people in our group, with a combined total of 9 college degrees and years of technical backgrounds in computers. Essentially, I consider the advertising of having wi fi at this hotel/motel to be purposely deceptive, and for all practical purposes, fraudulent. I do think all the staff were pleasant and agreeable... but this is a higher level management issue which had nothing to do with the staff. There was no way they could have changed this, but they did try. Essentially, who ever is taking care of the IT here is not doing it well, and as far as I can tell, it was never set up properly, and is worse than outdated. I would not have stayed there is I had known this, at any price. Even day to day email did not work well, but our attempt at a long distance computer conference was a disaster, and we had to result to using 3g cell phones. Holiday inn should be ashamed of advertising that this place has wi fi. 14 March 2015
