Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel, amazing view This hotel is great. The beach was amazing and the view of the ocean was even better. All the amenities you would expect and a very helpful staff. The front desk recommended the Habichuela Sunset for dinner and it did not disappoint. Definitely would stay here again. 25 July 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by For a location like Cancun, a bit of a disappointment compared to others I stayed in this location for a weekend. I can say the service was quite pleasing, but there were many issues which surprised me from an Intercontinental brand standard issue. As others have said, the property is older. It's small, and not as pretty as many of the neighboring resorts in the same price point. That was a little bit of a let down. Usually Intercontinental properties outside the US are visually stunning on the outside. When I checked in, all they had available to offer me was a "standard room on the second floor" ... While I don't feel entitled, it seems odd to offer a basic room on the second floor when I'm a Platinum Elite and there were the one-tier upgraded rooms available on the internet available for sale, but the front desk agent stated they were sold out. At least it would have been nice to have gotten a room above the tree line so I wasn't just looking into branches. The room assigned was basic... I'd say average or slightly below Intercontinental standards for a resort destination. The mattress was hard. For international travel comparison I'd say it's common, but given most of the guests seemed to be American, it seemed odd to have such a hard mattress. The stay was alright.... nothing to write home about. I was quite disappointed by the limited selection of on-site dining available. One night I went to the Mexican restaurant they have. It was mediocre at best. It definitely was not 4 or 5 star resort quality. I ordered room service the second day... again the food quality was lacking for an Intercontinental property. It's also worth mentioning that food and drink prices across the property both at the restaurants and the room service were quite overpriced. but one tends to expect that from Intercontinental. I used the pool, which was FILLED with kids screaming... seems like maybe the front desk doesn't monitor how many kids are in a room, as it seemed like some rooms had 2 adults and 3-4 kids staying in them. There's a "quiet\adult pool" but the problem is it's small, and literally right next to the main pool, so it's not so quiet. The pool by the bar is the kids\general pool, which meant walking to where all the children were for a drink. Not surprising the drinks were watered down and overpriced. Overall it was okay... certainly not the usual 4-5 star brand norm for Intercontinental in a resort destination. I can't say I'd stay there again next time I went to Cancun. With food\drink, the price of my room literally doubled for the price-per-night, which is disappointing since I could have stayed at a comparable quality, all inclusive property for about 25 percent more per night. 24 July 2014

My family and I have traveled to many European and Caribbean destinations and by far our experience at the Presidente ranks at the top of the list. From the moment we arrived, Nathalie and Adolfo set the tone with their welcoming smiles and thoroughness in getting us familiarized with the hotel's services and recommendations. From there evryone on the staff we encountered would greet us with a smile and address our every inquiry and need. Special thanks to Nathalie and Adolfo in addition to Gregorio and Miguel in the Club Lounge as well as Javier and Bernardo in the Pool/Bar Area. The premises and room were immaculate and the amenities very conveniently located. The beachfront is probably one the best situated along the entire hotel zone. The waters were calm and shallow. The food was also very good at the resort to the point where we ate most of meals on site. My family and I would highly recommend this resort for families and couples. 24 July 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Días de Playa en el Presidente Amigos del Presidente Cancún Resort: Quiero saludarles y enviarles mis felicitaciones por haber hecho que mi estancia en Cancún sea un grato recuerdo que me acompañará por siempre. Luego de explorar antiquísimas ruinas mayas no incluidas en los paseos turísticos regulares, mi familia y yo decidimos pasar unos días en su hotel y descansar de las largas caminatas bajo el sol de la Península. Fue una decisión acertada. Por este medio les expreso mi agradecimiento por las atenciones recibidas durante mi estancia. Todo el personal es muy amable y atento, hecho que habla muy bien de ustedes y de la empresa operadora. Encontré sonrisas en cada colaborador con el que interactué. La habitación presidencial (y el resto de las áreas comunes del piso Club) están hermosamente decorados con fotografías en blanco y negro de ruinas mayas (les confieso que me detuve en cada una de ellas para ubicarlas en mi mente y recordar su nombre). Las vistas al mar y la laguna son bellísimas. El desayuno y los canapés son un beneficio extra que de verdad vale la pena. El desayuno es inmejorable (fruta fresca, quesos, panes, jugos) y los canapés por la tarde son un detalle magnífico que no solo refresca sino revitaliza luego de un día de playa (el chocolatito relleno de mermelada de la última noche fue memorable). El Club esta muy bien iluminado, limpio y pulcro. El mobiliario de mi habitación me pareció muy cómodo y sofisticado, y la decoración de buen gusto. La terraza es increíble, los espacios son amplios y acogedores. El diseño de la planta del hotel me parece maravilloso para familias, las habitaciones están a unos pasos de la playa, las albercas y restaurantes. Quisiera nombrar a cada uno de los colaboradores del hotel (aunque la lista sería larga), pero en especial agradezco a Miguel, Gregorio y Samuel del Club Lounge, a mi camarista Lilia, a todos los que me atendieron en la playa ya sea cocinando riquísimos platillos como la hamburguesa caña brava o camarones con achiote o preparando raspados y smoothies, y a Nathalie por su cálido y fino trato al despedirme el día del check out. Reitero mi felicitación y les animo a que continúen con esa actitud hacia los huéspedes del Presidente Cancún, para que así mas turismo regrese a sus hogares con gratos recuerdos de México y de su valiosa gente quintanarroense. ¡Hasta muy pronto! 22 July 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 HOTEL CARO A CAMBIO DE MAL SERVICIO, INSTALACIONES DE BAJA CALIDAD Y PERSONAL IRRESPUETUOSO La comida de servicio a habitación se sirve fría y de acuerdo al humor del personal. No se cumple con lo que se indica en los menús, y al llamar para hacer la corrección le contestan literalmente "entonces que quieres que te mande". Esto con la firma del Hotel Intercontinental Presidente Cancún. Al realizar el reporte a gerencia y personal relacionado, simplemente le piden a uno disculpas, ni siquiera las ofrecen, incluyendo con esto falta de profesionalismo al dirigirse a los clientes. Con todo esto, es mi primera experiencia en ese hotel y la última, de eso puedo estar seguro. Pagué mucho dinero y no recibí ni el 10 % del mismo en los servicios. No lo recomiendo, existen muchos mejores destinos que incluyen un trato amable y respetuoso del personal. No sólo fue una persona que proporcionó este trato pésimo, estoy hablando de 10 empleados en una estancia de una noche un día. Es todo un record en lo que cabe a mi experiencia en hoteles. Pero quizás, como le ofreció el gerente, en mi "siguiente" visita se corrijan los errores y las faltas, como si no hubiera pagado ya por haber estado sujeto a este pesimo servicio. 21 July 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exceeded My Expectations My husband and I stayed for one night to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary. I emailed ahead of time to request a dinner reservation on the beach. Adolfo confirmed with me (prior to my arrival) that the reservation was made. First impressions mean so much! Upon arrival the gentleman that checked us in was very courteous. I also had the opportunity of meeting Adolfo during the check in process. We loved our suite on the sixth floor and beach was amazing. The GM introduced herself to me during the checkout process and was also very nice. She advised the hotel would be renovated and invited us back next year. My husband and I would love to return next spring/summer for a few days. 21 July 2014
