Korean Tipping

Tipping is at your discretion. It is not required nor expected in Korea. Please note that a number of hotels and restaurants include service charge in their prices.
Just two hours' drive from Seoul, this 238-room hotel and resort in Pyeongchang is an Alpine-style village nestled within the unspoilt beauty of the Taebaek Mountains. No matter what time of year you visit, there is plenty to see and do at the resort, including two Olympic-class ski slopes, three scenic golf courses and Ocean 700, Korea’s most modern indoor water park. Track the mountains and take in the region’s natural beauty or relax at one of the hotel’s peaceful après-ski spots.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel with friendly staff Very well-furnished hotel, spacious room, very comfortable bed. We spent 3 days at this hotel during our honeymoon in Korea and came here for the ski resort as well as to visit the Pyeongchang Trout Festival. The festival is 30 minutes drive and the hotel staff were very helpful in assisting us in booking a cab there. They even provided us with a hotel address card in Korean, for us to show to the cab driver when we return from the festival. Overall, the experience in this hotel was wonderful and would return in the future. 27 January 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good experience The staff Taylor Hong suggested us to book shuttle bus to get to the hotel and send us the reservation form for booking the bus. We can just take 3.5 hours to get to the hotel and arrive around 11:30am. Due to the membership of IHG, we can arrange early check-in for us, which is really appreciated. As we woke up very early on that day and were quite tired when arriving the hotel, so we could take some rest after checking in the room. The room is clean and spacious. Mattress and pillows are comfortable with soft bed sheets; all these can let me have a good sleep after an exhausting ski exercise. But it doesn't offer toothpaste and toothbrush, you need to bring your own ones or pay for them. The quality of towels are not good enough, that is not the expectation to a 5-star hotel. I would expect a rather thick and soft one. And there is no cream when you want to make coffee in the room. It seems to have Americano coffee only. Yongpyong ski resort is nearby the hotel, If scheduled shuttle bus is provided, it would be more convenient for guests who want to ski over there. 25 January 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ski weekend with kids Outstanding long weekend! During booking we forgot to apply our rewards/loyalty number to the reservation so we were not greeted as such, but staff was exceptional regardless and following providing our member number the staff went above and beyond to reimburse internet fees, etc. Very satisfied! 23 January 2015
