Insider Tips

Beniimo Sweet Potato

In 1604, Mr NOGUNI, a crew of trading boat from Okinawa to China, brought a nursery tree of sweet potato from China. Since then, it spread to all over Japan, and in Okinawa it is called “Beniimo” (Beni means red, Imo means potato) from its vivid redish purple color. This color comes from the substance called “anthocyanin”, that is effective for cancer prevention, arteriosclerosis prevention and antioxidative.
Thanks to its beautiful location of Cape Manza, a cape on the East China Sea, each guestroom at our hotel reveals stunning views of emerald green water, blue sky and white sand beaches. Take advantage of the tropical outdoor pool, dine in one of the six upscale restaurants or take part in the live entertainment. Our hotel is in a great place from which to explore Shuri Castle, vibrant Nakayukui Market or the Onna Village Museum.

    Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 渡假理想酒店 酒店內裝比预期好,海洋蓝颜色配合度假心情。 床舒適,枕頭硬度夠好,朝早市場有特色。 停車場車位足夠,自驾遊方便。 16 July 2014
    Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 13 July 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful family beach holiday Our second stay- 3 nights, first time was 2 years ago. Kids 3 and 4 years old now- love the pool, the beach, and the path to get there. An adventure! Rooms decor still fresh and clean. Lovely beach view. As per last visit, food quality very high. Fabulous dinner at Chinese restuarant Karin. Breakfasts good at all 3 locations- and every time we got a nice table and attentive service, both parents and toddlers thrilled. Shops were interesting as was the morning Okinawa food markets- and craft activities until late. Great public baths and spa facility. Easy drive to Churaumi Aquarium, stopped by Pineapple Park on the way back, and very happy the pool was open until 21:00 so a night swim possible! For us- the pillows were too soft (personal preference) and twice there were puddles of water in front of the 1st floor elevators. (assume wet people coming in from the pool) Love that the kids are made to feel welcome and the beds are big enough to share! We will be back again. 09 July 2014
