The faucet in the bathroom leaked and was flooding the bathroom. I reported it to the front desk and when I got to the room the workmen said someone reported the toilet was flooding and they didn't fix the problem. The cleaning people took every single towel in the room and did not replace them. The trash cans in the room were not emptied for two days. I requested a new room because of the constant flooding. I was placed in a cheaper room that had a terrible cleaning fluid odor that kept making me wheeze. The view out the window was directly into the room next door. This was not an experience that I'd like to repeat.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by PB2185 Nice stay/Bad Valet
The only thing negative I can say about my stay was the fact that the valet guys went through all of my personal belongings in my car. I had a set of keys in a white paper bag that was at the bottom of my center console. Well, my wife used the car during the day and this white bag was on the passengers seat when they brought her the car. This bag of keys was under a lot of junk my center console, so there is no way it could have ended up on the seat without someone digging through everything. My wife did not know that it was in the car so she thought it might have been the valets. She dropped it off with them when she returned and told me about it. I was able to get the keys back from the valet guys that were there at the time, but when I asked them if they had any idea how they had ended up on the passenger seat, they said they did not know.
I am not aware if anything was taken. I do not believe anything was, but we did have two other people staying in the hotel from the same wedding party have several items stolen. Both were electronic items. I know this is pretty typical from valets everywhere, but I thought I would let you know that it is a problem there.

Halloween is a great time to be in NOLA, everyone is wearing great costumes and partying up a storm. So when you want a little peace and quiet, the Hotel Intercontinental is just off of the French Quarter. The only problem is having a room next to the Trolly track, so ask for a room that does not face St. Charles St. They are just starting a complete renovation, which is needed. Still the hotel is quite nice and the Club is very nice.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Russell62 Night cashier, Ms. D. D.
Arrived early for check-in; left bags with the concierge; received a call within 30-45 minutes that our room was ready. Room was very comfortable/clean and as described/requested.
Requested to stay an additional night; 30-45 minutes later a confirming call was received for the additional night.
Room-key and bath towel mishaps were over-shadowed by late night cashier D. D. - she was most accomodating, answering questions before I asked them - offering to assist with checkout upon my 4:00 AM return from Bourbon Street. Ah, the Club InterContinental experience offeredwas paramount in making the IHG stay a memorable event.

Well, it wasn't really dawn, but whoever decided to crank up a jackhammer at 8:30 on a Saturday morning must be truly sadistic. We were very pleased when we checked in on Friday. The staff were all quite friendly and efficient. They just failed to mention that there would be construction going on during our stay. So, we had a really good time in the French Quarter, with every intention of sleeping it off on Saturday morning. Imagine our horror when we were wakened by the staccato rattle of a jackhammer. The failure to inform guests that this was going to happen is an entirely inexcusable lapse in judgement on the part of hotel management.

In New Orleans, you want to sleep in on the weekend. But we were awakened at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday mornings by core drilling which shook the building. No notice. No apologies. No effort to compensate.
Besides that this is a dingy hotel not worthy of the Intercontinental name.
And the staff is at best indifferent and at worse sullen.

This hotel needs updating. Many of the areas have been neglected for some time.
Someone made the decision to jack hammer the elevator shafts on Saturday and Sunday. Whoever made that decision should not be allowed to make any more decisions. Doing that early and all day on a weekend was a very poor decision.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Christie888 Not up to standard.
This hotel needs refurbishment. The decor was dated. The staff were ok but not comparable to the excellent service of the intercontinental in Singapore and San Francisco.
The club lounge door lock was not working and quite often was not accessible if no one was inside to let you in.
The concierge was knowledgable and efficient in making bookings for us.

I enjoyed my overnight stay at the Intercontinental Hotel. My room was beautiful and my bed was extremely comfy. I ate in two of the hotel restaurants, and also enjoyed dinner at a catered event. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. The staff were all very friendly, and went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to others.

We were booked there for the Douget/Jordan Wedding Event
I must say our stay with this hotel was very memorable. Staff was great from the moment we drove into the valet parking area.
Bar Staff member Astrid was especially attentive and helpful to all our needs. A true asset to the location.
Location of the hotel was great and everything we did was within walking distance.

This was my first time In New Orleans and this was a very good location, and staff was excellent. I booked a club level room and the lounge was nice with good food. The only negative was my window was on somebody else's balcony and not very much sunlight.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jean95 Excellent hotel near French Quarter
We stayed 5 nights in late October 2013 and loved the Intercontinental! The hotel has a classic look in its lobby, hallways, and rooms. The staff were wonderful -- my favorite was Arnold (saw him several times serving at our conference, always with a smile and very helpful attitude). Many comforts in the rooms, enjoyed the free WiFi. Could have had a heated pool, but the workout room and rooftop area were lovely and relaxing. It's an easy walk to the heart of the French Quarter. May want an upper floor room to avoid the noise of the streetcar. Highly recommended hotel!

I have stayed at this hotel several times in the past, and have enjoyed everything about the hotel. After this last stay I can't see ever staying here again. My check Inn experience was horrible and set the tone for the entire weekend. In fact I was told by someone one the staff that they were under new management which is why I probably notice the difference. UNBELIEVABLE

I stayed in this hotel with a large group for a conference. The room was comfortable and clean. I stay in a lot of hotels, so it didn't blow me away, but there was certainly nothing to complain about. But the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my time there. Our conference had the restaurant cater the food for most of the meals, and it was some of the best food I have had from a hotel. Fine restaurant quality food for every meal.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Praye Wonderful stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Intercontinental. The room was lovely, the amenities were substantial and the staff was courteous. Our only complaint was a VERY noisy AC vent. We told the front desk and it was fixed before the end of the day. I think the cleaning staff should have noticed this since the noise was very pronounced. We travel to New Orleans often and plan to make this our go-to hotel.

The stay was up to the usual standards, so the stay was enjoyable.
There were a few things we are happy to point out that may be considered for improvements
- the gym is a good one, spacious and most of the equipment is good, but the cycling machine was out of service, and quite dated.
- there was no tea available in the room.
- the room seemed to get hot at night, despite turning the air con being turned lower.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Carameltown Poor planning
The room itself was very nice and clean. Sitting chair was missing along with bathrobes, evident by fabric hangers still in closet. Unable to use fridge in room, due to no key and the ice machine was not working on the floor to which I was staying. I was enjoying my stay until being abruptly awaken by the sound of power tools and construction approximately 9 a.m. The room that the hotel placed me and guest in was scheduled to have maintenance done to the balcony next to it that Sunday at 12 p.m. after I had checked out, so the manager on Duty told me. I had requested a late check out at the time of check in and it was accepted. My compliant is simply poor management and planning. The manager on duty conveyed that she simply could care less about the disturbance and that is was business as usual. She did not attempt at any gesture to make amends. She went on to even lie that as soon as they were made aware of the incident, they took care of it immediately.... A LIE!!!! It took 3 calls to the service desk before anything was done. My guest and I had to lie there for a little over an hour listening to construction going on. I thought at first it was a really loud and bad vacuum cleaner, but the longer it went on and I began to wake up, I realize what is was. I felt as though I should have been made aware of the pending construction that would occur and given the option to change rooms or change hotels. I will not be returning!

What has happened to this hotel. we have stayed at the hotel for yours but had not been to New Orleans for the last 2 years. The rooms are filthy. We were given a room on floor 6. It had 6 burn spots and several pins on the floor. It did not have a chair! We were moved on request to a"renovater" room on floor 11. it was not much better

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by MPNYC Awful Experience
It's almost inconceivable that this hotel is a part of the luxury brand under the Intercontinental Hotel Group. Upon arrival it took us 2+ hours to get settled into our rooms which had been re-confirmed over the phone numerous times. Upon arriving at the hotel we were told we would have to wait 20 minutes for our rooms to be finished. When we returned we were sent up to rooms which were incorrect with what we had requested. We were traveling with a large party and had pre-booked and requested three close by rooms, however this was not a possibility even though the staff confirmed over and over verbally. The concierge had a hard time tracking down a pre-sent package and an order we had placed for arrival. The communication with the staff seemed to have been missing here.
Upon calling down to fix the room situation, we were told the hotel was sold out and they couldn't accommodate us. I spoke with a manager, who was incredibly rude to me, and miraculously after 20 minutes managed to "find rooms" and send someone up to help us move. After 2 hours we finally got settled in, and enjoyed the concierge floor (which I asked for) since no one was working with us. It really put a lot of stress onto the beginning of vacation, and not something I wish to ever repeat.
The rooms themselves are very musty and a bit outdated and dusty, we found the lack of lighting a bit dulling. The walls are paper thin, we heard drunk guests running up and down the hall screaming until around 5AM each night. Location is great, but to deal with this service and room, I will NOT be back. The customer should and is always right, and never deserves and attitude, very disappointed with my experience.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by ab1501 Restaurants Closed...Updating Needed!
No one let us know the restaurants on the property were closed...And there were no signs saying they were closed. Even some of the hotel staff didn't know they were closed! This hotel needs some serious updating. All the furniture in the room was beat up with cracks, peeling, etc. You could tell the ceiling in our room had been sloppily repaired (looked like a water leak). The shower pressure was horrendous...I felt like it was beating me! The shower/bathtub itself was very poorly built with the faucet turned sideways...very awkward. I was very disappointed by the poor quality of the hotel and our experience.
