Our visit to New Orleans was arranged quickly and The Intercontinental Property was available.
The accommodations were very nice with well appointed and quiet rooms. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful; making helpful suggestions about travel in the local area ... making us feel safe and our trip very comfortable.
Concierge helped arrange purchase of some over the counter medicine from a near-by CVS when my bronchitis suddenly worsened late one evening but I was not feeling well enough to go out to the drug store myself. Very helpful and considerate.

My husband and I were hoping for a relaxing 2-night getaway, but the continuing stream of problems made this a stressful place to stay. Our first room had no pillows for the bed, crumbs on the dresser and hadn't been vacuumed (although the bathroom was cleaned). We were moved to a new room where the ottoman was sitting on TOP of the armchair (but at least it was evidence that vacuuming had taken place recently), and the refrigerator didn't work. At the end of our second day, our key cards didn't work and had to be replaced, and then when we got in the room it hadn't been cleaned. I called the front desk and was assured that the room would be cleaned while we were out at dinner that night. When we arrived back at 11 p.m., however, the room hadn't been touched, so we gave up and went to bed. Bright and early at 8 a.m. the next morning--our checkout day--we were awakened by housekeeping asking if they could clean our room! Fifteen minutes later, we were awakened again by someone asking if we wanted our minibar restocked.
We reported all of our problems to the front desk and/or manager, and everyone was very sympathetic and full of promises that issues would be addressed, but things never got better. We were very disappointed in what we thought would be a top-level hotel experience.
