Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location We stayed here for Mardi Gras 2014 and even despite the rain and slow elevators we had a great time. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go so we didn't have to worry about getting the car to go places. This was my second stay at this hotel and I would definitely stay here again. 26 March 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Mediocre for the price This was my first time back to New Orleans since 2003; although I was at a conference, I was also hoping to squeeze in some rest and relaxation. The first point to note was the building work – it seems rather convenient that there is no way of knowing there will be drilling and construction work from 8am thru 5pm for most of my stay, so when I happened to finish early from the conference, it was hit or miss as to whether I could really relax in my hotel room. Had I known about this, I wouldn’t have stayed at this hotel. I was booked into a room that reeked of cigarette smoke; when I went straight down to reception to complain about this, I was told it was a ‘non-smoking’ room, the only problem being the fact that it smelled otherwise. They did find me another room, which didn’t smell of cigarette smoke. The service was variable. Some of the staff was exception and charming, while others were incompetent. The evening before checking out, I wanted to know if I had to come to reception, or if a bill would be slipped under my door. The person at reception told me that I would not receive a bill unless I came down to reception to check out in person. Checking in for a 6.25 am flight meant having to wake up that much earlier; I get to reception before 4am, only to be told that their audit was running and that they would email me my bill. I would like to given the benefit of the doubt to the ‘gentleman’ who gave me inaccurate information…… The gym was very ordinary; I was interested in the rowing machine, in particular, and unfortunately, trying to use it, it felt like it had not been maintained in 5yrs. So, all in all, yes, I had a clean bed, and a roof over my head, but one expects a little bit more when you are paying to stay at the Intercontinental. 20 March 2014

This hotel is under major reconstruction, and the noise level in my room was so high that I had to end several phone calls because we couldn't hear each other. The manager on duty gave me access to the Club area and a discount. The breakfast was very poor in the main breakfast room. I was leaving the hotel 4 am and was not allowed to pay my bill the evening before due to automatic billing of the room at midnight. They promised me to have everything ready for my departure, but nothing was done and "the system was down" when I came. Today, 4 days later, I have still not received the bill on my e-mail. The hotel is situated in a very central area, just few blocks from the French Quarter. 19 March 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bed was comfortable Service was not great. Room was not completely cleaned or restocked. When calling the front desk for service still no reply, however, after a second call to the front desk I received the shower cap, nonetheless I had already left the room as I was late for the conference already. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by review Had major problems at check in although I presneted my confirmation number along with a print out of my confirmation. Front Desk clerk kept asking if I was coming in April, if I was staying for 2 nights (only 1), if I was Mr & Mrs X, this went on and on for about 30-45 minutes before I was able to get a room key and proceed with my stay. 10 March 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel for mardi gras and pre- cruise Stayed here prior to leaving for a cruise. It's right on the parade route for mardi gras. It's being remodeled right now so lots of construction going on. The line for concierge was always long. Really this hotel is all about location. 09 March 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Mardi Gras in New Orleans The room was nicely fresh and clean. The staff was very pleasant. The restaurant food was not very good. All the bars and restaurants were combined into only one space in the hotel. It was under construction so the jack hammers were not a welcomed addition. Woke us up at 8AM and finished around 4PM. There was no notice on the web to announce they were under construction and no offer to discount the hotel for the inconvenience. Cannot recommend. 08 March 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Do not use the valet parking! The hotel has some major renovations going on but if you look inside of the rooms they are damaged. My window leaked water my entire stay and there was a pool if water on the window seal. The wall in the shower was cracked in the ceiling as if it wasn't fixed after Hurricane Katrina. Okay so I let the valet park my car and they stole everything I had in my car! They cut my convertible top from the inside so I basically spent money to get robbed. They claim they use a third party company but it's still connected to their hotel. 08 March 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Jan of Covington Have stayed here several times in the past. Nice place, great location for the Mardi Gras season. Booked room in November for February stay of one night. Checked status of reservation several days before stay and saw that same room was still available for $30 less than what I had booked room for. Contacted customer service about a rate reduction and the people I spoke with were boderline rude and would not let me speak to a manager about it. All that was done was a new confirmation email was sent increasing the parking rate. This will make me consider another hotel in the future. 08 March 2014

This was very disappointing and quite surprising, seeing that all of those benefits have been standard at the other Intercontinental Hotels we have stayed at. 04 March 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quick Weekend in New Orleans New Orleans, love the city, love the Intercontinental Hotel. Very nice suite, clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent location. Walking distance to the French Quarter and a short tram ride to the Garden District. Great city for live music. I have stayed at this hotel two other times and had an equally fantastic time. Wish I could get back for Mardi Gras. 28 February 2014

The hotel was under construction, but this did not cause any issues during our stay. They only worked during certain hours. We did hear the noise but weren't disturbed by it. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by No cleaning service provided I stayed for two nights and no one serviced my room after the first night of my stay. It seemed as though someone from the hotel had gone through and put a "do not disturb" sign on each room in my area, so mine was not cleaned. By the time I realized, it was too late (evening) and I wanted to settle down, not wait for the service at that point. It may have been a miscommunication due to the renovations - but, this needs to be fixed. 25 February 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Standard Room I did not know that booking a standard room at the New Orleans InterConti means a room WITHOUT daylight. We looked at a wall outside and we had to turn on the TV to find out about the weather. It was easily the worst hotel room we have ever stayed in. We had other problems as well, once the bathroom door was closed from the outside, it would not open, we had to use a Swiss Army knife. The hair dryer had a cord of one ft, maybe 30 cm. How can you use it? The airline had lost my suitcase, so I asked for a bathrobe, which was supposed to be in the room anyway, it took three phone calls and 75 mins to get one! 24 February 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Helpful Staff Quiet and comfortable room. Friendly, helpful staff. The hotel is undergoing renovations yet the signage and staff were helpful in getting around. Seems to be geared more towards the business traveler. It's a little pricey but then again it was in line with most of the hotels in that area. I would stay there again on business. 20 February 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Good location but a badly maintained hotel The location is good, but it is about the only good of this hotel. The entrance area is in maintenance, it is not easy to get to the lobby from the front street. The hotel is generally speaking very old and lack of updates. My room, for instance, has water leaked in when i first checked into the hotel room, and the shower head doesn't work properly. 13 February 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Most Enjoyable Stay I have stayed at varying hotels world wide and this was one of the very best experiences I've had anywhere. From the extremely patient late night check-in Desk Clerk, to the excellent concierge service and the very thoughtful Room Service personnel, this was one of the most enjoyable stays I've been fortunate to have. As a manager of people I'm acutely aware that repeat business is derived from the very best customer service. I use the axiom; "A satisfied customer statistically will tell 2 to 3 other people while a dissatisfied customer will tell anyone who will listen, but certainly a minimum of 5 to 7 people." For this reason I commend the Intercontinental Hotel for its outstanding customer service. I highly recommend the NOLA Intercontinental Hotel. 12 February 2014

I don't understand why booking through a web site is any different then booking through your reservation site as the end result was that I stayed at your hotel. By the way, the rooms were discounted because you are doing a renovation of the lobby and restaurant and bar. I would like to receive the points 10 February 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Service and Construction Couldn't sleep, they started doing construction at 0800. You think this wouldn't be a big deal since it looks outside, but it literally sounded like it was in the room floors up and you can't sleep through it. Complained to front desk and they offered to give points for the bad stay, but never did. Also charged me initially $200 more than I had booked the stay for luckily I caught the mistake before leaving. Don't stay here. 08 February 2014
