Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Falls short of expectation This hotel falls short of expectation in every way possile except: Concierge, Valet, Room Service. For the price, the king room with a view: was too small for more than one comort chair so staying in the rooms for any anything other sleep was uncomfortable. I was expecting 2 chairs, an end table, a desk and enough room to turn the chairs. TV did not provide any programming other than standard channels. I was expeting movie channels, pay channels and "still in theaters" pay movies. The Top of the Mark bar provided poor, unfriendly service. Average wait time per drink was 20 minuntes in a room that was not crowded. The band play 10 minutes sets and took 20 minute breaks. They band played so little, so often that people would leave after only one drink. This may also be due to the long wait time on drinks. 25 April 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Sojourn In Frisco This was our first tie in San Francisco but not the first time at an Intercontinental Hotel. We loved the ambience, location and appreciated the courteous staff but especially our experience in dining at the "Top of the Mark". The view was spectacular as was the staff! However, we were surprised at the WIFI daily charge as we haven't run across this before and feel it should have been included in our daily rate. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. 15 April 2013

Right from the start when my husband made the booking, he said he had never had anyone being so helpful on the phone. On arrival we were very impressed with the door staff, reception and conceiege, everyone was very friendly and welcoming, not to mention very helpful and a wealth of information. We had a fantastic stay in your hotel. The rooms were extremely comfortable, cleaned and tidied better than any hotel I have ever stayed in-thank you. The Mark Hopkins was a wonderful experience thanks to a very professional and attentive staff- the best, thank you. 15 April 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay While Aman front desk was extremely helpfull, and nice and explained ambassador to us Our waiter at top of mark was very very helpful and nice BUT Breakfast room service.... last week when we were there March 28th..they forgot my husbands apple juice and had to go back and get it This time we ordered a pot of coffee and they did not bring sugar which we BOTH use yes I know about the single cup maker in the room and that only had one pack of sugar we were not going to call for sugar when they make up the room there should be at least 4 packs of sugar and when ordering a Pot of coffee with breakfast there should be sugar with our cream 11 April 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Memorable stay Our two nights at the Mark Hopkins were delightful. While we enjoyed the goodness of San Francisco, we were almost lured to simply luxuriate at the hotel. The proximity to the magnificent Easter celebration at Grace Cathedral was a highlight complemented by the welcome at MH and the comfort of accommodations. The charge for the room was a great value for what is offered. To quote our former, not favorite governor, "we'll be back." 06 April 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent hotel! We stayed for our 10 year anniversary and were overwhelmed at the courtesy. We were given a corner room, which had an excellent view of the city. The room was very spacious, with a nice sized LCD TV. The bedding was very plush also. The bathrooms are a great size with marble and granite. The best part was the Keurig machine in the room. The concierge team was very helpful, calling taxis for us, assisting with luggage, and providing directions around the city. We highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a great experience in San Francisco and also a spectacular location, central to all of the "tourist" destinations. 01 April 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful hotel We came to the City for a one night honeymoon. This hotel is lovely. They stored our bikes for us in a locked underground garage. We stayed on the 12th floor and had a terrific view of the City. They have docking stations in the room for IPAD which was nice. We also had drinks at the Top of the Mark. The room was clean and nice. I love their soap. We had great service from everyone and would definitely go back again. They event sent us a nice bottle of California Sparkling wine. Just remember its at the top of the hill so expect a climb if you are on foot or bike. 01 April 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Property! Outside of the high price of parking ($60), park at the cathedral a block away ($30), this IC Hotel is as good as it gets. Set in Nob Hill the views are second to none just like their staff. The upgraded room was nice, next time I hope I get upgraded to a suite, the continental breakfast was very good. The spread reminded me of IC HK Grand Stanford. I'm thinking I need to bring the wife here for our 5 year anniversary! 29 March 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful hotel and excellent service. The Mark speaks for itself, I'm a resident of San Francisco and live less than a mile from there. We stayed the night I proposed to my fiance, and it was perfect. I had the concierge put rose petals in the room, they made a trail to the bed, made a heart out of rose petals on the bed, and had rose petals in just about every corner of the room (including the bathroom). It was above and beyond what I was expecting for such a service, and very, very reasonably priced. The rest of the hotel is exquisite, and the service impeccable. 28 March 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Guest of Honor I always feel like a guest of honor in San Francisco when I stay at the Mark Hopkins. I stayed in a beautiful one-bedroom corner suite on a high floor with a dining room table with a crystal chandelier and a view of the TransAmerica building, Chinatown, the financial district, Berkeley, the Bay Bridge, and Union Square. My room also had a spacious marble bath with a whirlpool and separate shower. The living area had a couch and chairs and a large LCD TV with a wide variety of high-definition channels available. The bedroom had a comfortable king bed and its own high-definition TV and Bose stereo. The sheets are ironed, and the suite is immaculate. The guest relations staff is very helpful, as is the housekeeping staff. My amenity, which I receive as an InterContinental Ambassador member, includes fresh fruit, bottled Evian water, and local organic chocolates. I had a wonderful breakfast in the Nob Hill Restaurant which is right off the lobby; they start serving an elaborate buffet starting at 06:30AM. You can self-park in the Nob Hill Masonic garage one block away: it is a very clean and safe garage with large spaces available in case you are driving a large vehicle and prefer the peace of mind of parking your vehicle yourself. 25 March 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable hotel, great staff and perfect location I just went back from a stay of 5 days in this hotel. We had a room with a king size bed with a nice view on the bay. We took the option of continental club which is perfect. We asked for a room with no connecting door and a quiet room. Our request was respected. The only thing the hotel has to change is the doors. Indeed each time someone is entering in a room, the noise from the door slam is very strong !!! So please solve this problem and your hotel would be perfect ! 24 March 2013

Free room upgrades, 4:00 pm check out, fruit @ water at arrival and daily newspaper . Perks you won't find at any other hotel in the city. This was my 3rd visit to the Classic Mark Hopkins in Nob Hill. When David the front desk manager heard it was my birthday he upgraded me to a suite on the 16th floor. Then he had room service send up cupcakes on my birthday!! Thank you David !! The higher you go less street noise and better views. The bell staff , house keeping and room service staff are excellent. Room was clean, comfortable and spacious with large bath tub and seprate shower. No gift shop in hotel so you must cross street to Fairmont. This is the place to stay in the city. Excellent value for your dollar. 24 March 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Beautiful but not modern This a beautiful hotel, on the top of a hill. Our room offered a gorgeous view of the city. Why though not offering free internet? For us a modern room is one that offers a bathroom, a bed and internet at the same level. Warning: the parking is very pricey too. 22 March 2013

Staff was great; used Concierge during stay and was really pleased with the service. Only drawbacks: couldn't access our terrace and hotel has no restaurant and has limited food options. More options thru room service which is rather strange. But the room and the staff are the reasons I would recommend the hotel. 14 March 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Top of San Francisco I decided to spend a couple of days before my formal work obligations at this hotel to enjoy the delights of one of North America's, and the world's, great cities. On the down side, my room took a bit of time to become available. However, being of a cheerful and optimistic disposition I took a walk around the neighbourhood (UK spelling) followed by a light meal in the restaurant. Both were exhilarating. Thereafter my weekend was memorable because of the (easy) walk downhill and the (healthy) walk uphill but especially the warm and friendly SF hospitality offered by the international staff. Quality is never cheap, but bring your loved ones to enjoy life at its best. P. 09 March 2013
