Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jch123 Nice Job Staybridge!
I was traveling home with the family at the end of our vacation to New Mexico, and booked a room at the Staybridge In Amarillo from the car while driving.
I am an IHG member with a Gold Status, so I stay at IHG brqnd hotels quite a bit. I Booked this room on Points. I was just looking for a place land for the night.
from the booking to checkout this was one of the best hotel experiences i have had in a long time. the Staff was friendly and accomodating the room and the rest of the Hotel was spotless! the beds were incredible.
I usually stay at Holiday inn Express when i travel for business, but after my experience at Staybridge,
I will start looking for them as an option as well.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by zerwitt14 quality has fallen here
This was our fourth time at this location and in about a 6 week span the quality has fallen dramatically. First we could use our IHG rewards points for the room we need for our family, the same room type we have every time. I had to call the hotel GM and he still said I could not use my rewards points, but could give me a discount. Well it wasn't much of a discount, it simply put us at about the rate we have previously paid here. Then we ended up in the wrong room type after speaking with the hotel GM. I had to talk with the front desk to get our room changed, and while not expected, no refund for our troubles was offered like we have had from other IHG properties.
Although the evening reception is complementary, and we appreciate the food and drinks, the food was not up to par. We purposely scheduled our stay on a Thursday to save money on eating while on the road, and had to go out and find dinner for half our family because of the poor options at the reception.
Then at breakfast the service was horrible. They pulled the food about 2-3 minutes before the posted end time. They actually reached around guests to take stuff away with guest waiting in line to get food and napkins etc. This was horrible. At our previous stay here I had nothing but compliments. Not sure if its an ownership/management change recently but the quality has dropped dramatically from late June to the end of July at this location.
The young man at the front desk seemed very agitated when I asked to change rooms, and I think it was towards the management not at me. In the morning of check out we spoke with the young man, who was there at 9pm the night before and back at 9am and he was very sorry but could not do much as he is not a manager. We left a comment in a binder at the front desk and filled out the comment card.
Hopefully they turn this around, if not we'll be finding a new property to stay at in Amarillo, and we stay here about 2-4 times a year when we travel.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Poofsgirl Pleasantly surprised
We needed a place to stop on our long road trip from Austin to Colorado and I was having trouble finding a place to accomodate our family of 2 adults, 3 children and 1 dog. Although slightly out of our intended travel path, I took the chance and booked at Staybridge instead of getting two rooms at another hotel, despite the price being higher than I really wanted to spend. Much to my surprise I have to say the hotel was worth the amount we paid (although with the pet fee and taxes added on it was pushing my comfort level). The room was huge and the kids had enough space so there were no fights. The pool was crowded but nice. Pet area was easily accessible, yet out of the way with grass vs. dirt. Breakfast was average but it filled our belly's before we hit the road, and the Manager was there refilling the empty coffee pots and seemed to really be concerned about people's happiness. Overall if you are looking for a comfortable place to stay with a larger family or pet I would say this is worth the look.

Great facility, far exceeds Holiday Inn. We really enjoyed the clean, well appointed and roomy suite. Wow--I had no idea--we will look for this chain

probably one of my top 5 hotel experiences in the last 10 years. Excellent facilities. The management was on duty at 11:00 p.m. when we arrived. He helped us put our mountain bikes in safe storage with extra effort. I buy over 200 hotel nights a year. This was definitely the best this year. If I had one thing I would like to see different, it would be the dining facilities. There were not enough places to sit. Not a big enough problem to care about.

The Suite exceeded our expectations in every way. As big as a 4 star hotel in a larger city. Breakfast was better than other hotels of the same size. The building needs more than one elevator. If you have a pet double check your bill.

I have not stayed at the Staybridge Suites before so was not sure what to expect. The property sets off the I40 the turn to entrance can be missed easily. The staff checked me quickly, they have only 1 elevator and it is a little slow, the hallways are wide, the interior décor is modern clean softly lit but lots of natural light, the room was big, comes with a full kitchenette stocked with all things you would need to cook with, desk area was okay you have your choice of wireless or data port for internet I always use data port when available, there is a sectional type couch , chair, king size bed, 32 inch flat screen tv, channel was about normal, not exceptional, the bed was comfortable, but the pillows were horrible, why you use standard size pillows on king size bed, the bathroom nice size, towels were above the normal, bath amenities good, only thing on sheets and towels you have to ask have them clean otherwise it is 7 days...they have social hour which is one the best have had, the had grilled brauts , salad, cubed cheeses, other stuff good wine and you choice of Coors light and Shiner bock on tap WOW...they also have extensive video library if you want to take movie to watch in your room , the pool is indoors and separate building behind the main lobby very nice pool area, the exercise area was nice, they had nice patio area out back to hang out if you wanted to. I was there for business, but this is a place you would take your family, I did not use the breakfast, but I did looked over lots of good things available fresh fruit etc..I would recommend Staybridge in Amarillo, TX to anyone who is looking to stay in Amarillo, in fact I am heading to Amarillo again and have booked my stay there again.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by NicknAZ Noisy and Poor Buffet plus Internet Issues
Very disappointing! The rooms are not soundproof at all. There was a family above us that made so much noise, that I had to call the front desk and demand them to stop, so we could sleep. We could also hear someone's dogs barking into the night in another room and a gentleman across the hall talking on the phone about his Speedo even with our door shut. Additionally, we found out my wife's Kindle could not connect to the internet. I was able to log on with my laptop but she was not able. Finally, to add insult to injury, we booked Staybridge to have the hot breakfast buffet in the morning. We were very disappointed with the lack of food available at 8:30 AM and the poor selection. No one took responsibility so we went outside the hotel. We overpaid on price and underserved as a customer. We will tell others to stay away from this brand. I stay at many other IHG properties and will tell others to avoid Staybridge. The property severely overpriced.

a stay at these hotels is usually great, but this one is overpriced, the beds are scratchy, and it is not worth the amount of money to stay here, even if you're a rewards member.

This was the first time we stayed at a Staybridge Suite. We didn't know what to expect. We enjoyed the real dishes and items in the kitchen: silverware, glasses, dish washer, two-burner cook-top, microwave. It's close to many restaurants and easy to get to from I-40. Only cons: Not enough towels for my 5 member family and they were out of towels in the pool area. Also, the eggs on the buffet were cooked wrong. They were stirred so much during cooking that they were tiny little pieces of eggs dripping in water. They should let them puff up. They also ran out of coffee in several pots. I wish they had the social every night, not just during the week. I do plan on staying here again and even booked a trip to Corpus Christi this month. I'm excited to stay at another Staybridge! In the future, Staybridge will be the first place I look for while traveling!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Karen216 Bad Staff Can Change Hotel
This would be a great hotel were it not for a bad apple in the bunch. If you have any interaction with Rayanne at the front desk, you'll have a terrible stay. One conversation with that girl will make your day much worse. Beautiful building, clean rooms, great atmosphere, but 1 bad employee can ruin an entire stay. Eric is amazing, and if you have any request, ask for him.

The reason we picked the hotel was because it was dog friendly because we brought our Lab on the trip. The place was beautiful, the rooms clean and spacious. The beds were large and comfortable. Towels in the bathrooms were big and fluffy. Breakfast was awesome; however, it doesn't start until 7:30am and I did suggest an earlier start time like 6am or 6:30am, but otherwise, I would definately recommend the hotel. I hope all Staybridge hotels are like the one in Amarillo.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Times Nice room, but not quality service
We stayed 4 nights. The room itself was very nice, and the front desk staff all except one person was very nice, however 2 of the days there housekeeping did not make up our rooms and we had to go get our own clean towels. We had to ask for toilet paper and Kleenex and clean towels. That makes if very difficult with children. The dinner is a nice concept, however they run out fast and most of the time is spent waiting for them to put more food out. Hotel was very clean and room was exceptionally clean when we arrived. It just would have been nice to have our trash emptied, clean towels in the room and beds made up. Just didn't get what we paid for and no compensation was offered for their mistakes. One time its a mistake, the second time you tend to think they just didn't care.

My experience was very good, except for being in a room next to the stairwell. Oh my gosh, the thumping of people running up and down the stairs was awful, all night and day. I will be sure to ask for a room away from the stairwell next time.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ElkeNorEast Wonderful stay at Staybridge Suites
This is a great choice in Amarillo! We were on our way to Palo Duro Canyon and had four people in our party, so the two-bedroom suites was a great choice for us so we had two bathrooms and plenty of sleeping room for everyone. There is an Olive Garden that does a great takeout package within walking distance - more food than we could all eat. The other clientele at this property seemed to be guys here on business (construction or oil?) who were all very friendly, polite and well behaved, which was nice, and they contributed to a friendly atmosphere. My six year old was excited about the pool, but sadly that was disappointing - they need to repaint the pool room, it is very dreary and dark. The water was freezing, and there were no towels available at 8pm on a Tuesday, although there were many wet ones scattered around the pool area. Otherwise, this is a great property and I will stay again next time I'm in need of accommodation in the Amarillo area

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Where's My Refund? Be careful about overcharging and incorrect room rates
We booked a stay at this hotel commencing 20 May 2014 through the IHG web site as I am a Gold member of the group's reward scheme.
This hotel was great and seemed good value for money.
The suites were excellent and the staff were friendly enough.
BUT they seemed incapable of understanding that I had booked two rooms for two nights -we were meeting up with relatives there. The room rate for one of the rooms was initially too high and then they charged the cost of one room to the wrong credit card - leaving me with charges to pick up. The final straw was to get home and find that an additional erroneous charge for one night had been debited to my wife's debit card!
Despite on-going attempts to get this rectified with the hotel and IHG - as at June 10 - I'm still out of pocket.
So, if you're staying there check your room rate carefully against your reservation details. And DOUBLE CHECK your credit/debit card too - there might be a nasty surprise waiting for you.
