Friendly staff, good hotel

The hotel was clean and in a great location. The staff member, Libby, made this hotel stand out to me. We woke up at 4:00 am to get back on the road and Libby was so friendly and helpful. When I told her that we had to leave so early she offered to put breakfast out early so we could eat before we left. The coffee was also really good, freshly ground and brewed on demand 24 hours a day in the lobby with plenty of sugar and cream options, as well as tea and cocoa. I would stay here again!

Great location! The staff is exceptional especially Tracy,Heather,Courtney,Destina and Nathaniel. The rooms are super clean.

We spent the night passing through on our way to South Dakota. The hotel was clean, bed was comfortable, nothing fancy, did the job. The staff were not very friendly and breakfast was very limited.

I really like this place and highly recommend it over many other places I’ve stayed in Sioux City. Mostly because of the staff. They are extremely friendly, most helpful, and really go out of their way for guests. Courtney, Heather, and Tracy are the best. Thank you for everything that you do.
Got charged $60, but staff told us room was “comped”

When we made the reservation, we thought there would be a $60 charge, but we were excited when the check in staff told us the bill was zero, as it was a complimentary night. When we checked out the next morning, we got the same message and the staff member said the room was comped and there was no bill.
We got charged $60 on our credit card by an entity called Intercontinental hotels.

The hotel is great and the amenities are great. Breakfast was amazing. Lots to choice from. My only issue was the check in staff. She was engaged in personal conversation with someone when I was clearly standing in front of her to check in for about 20 seconds. Didn't even acknowledge me. That was my first time at the hotel and I thought that was a bad start. I stayed for the weekend and the stay just got better after that. It may have been a one off but that was incredibly rude by the staff member and hope it doesn't happen to other guess.

The staff especially in the morning were terrible. She was more interested in her cellphone than her guests. She was also supposed to put out breakfast by 6:30 am, but nothing came out so I went in the kitchen doorway at 6:45 to check on it and again she was more interested in her phone. When I asked, she gave me a dirty look and finally brought out the food. She made me feel like I was inconveniencing her instead of apologizing. This was very poor service. Not what I expect from a Holiday Inn property.

As a business traveler, this hotel was a breath of fresh air. The simple and bright rooms made it easy to do work while in the room. The breakfast options were amazing for a "budget" hotel and rivaled ones costing twice as much for a stay. It was also quiet, which is rare for a hotel at this price point.

This hotel is easy and cheap access to downtown and surrounding areas. My work brings me to Sioux City often and I always choose AVID. It’s perfect for my needs. At the office all day. Then close to restaurants down town. Take a shower and go to bed. To repeat in the morning. Easy place to stay.

The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was soft, but very comfortable. Window covering could be improved. We did not use the WiFi. We had a single king. The room was a bit smaller than many, but was big enough for the 2 of us. It is very convenient to access. There are restaurants within 2-3 blocks, and more just a bit further. We would definitely stay here again.

Nathan did an exemplary job in making our stay GREAT. He was friendly and took care of my requests quickly. He even remembered my dog from a previous visit. Great job, Nathan.
