The Außenalster is used by the inhabitants of Hamburg for recreational purposes such as sailing and rowing. It is very popular to jog around the lake (approximately seven kilometres).

Visiting Hamburg you can not miss out on a walk on the famous Reeperbahn. Especially on a Friday or Saturday night past 9:30pm you will experience the special atmosphere there, for instance at the Dollhouse.

St. Michaelis, called Michel, is one of Hamburg's five main Protestant churches and the most famous church in the city. St. Michaelis is a landmark of the city.

Hamburger Speicherstadt is the world's largest historic warehouse complex, located in the Port of Hamburg. It covers the area between Baumwall and Oberhafen. Since 1991, it has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A trip to Hamburg is not complete without visiting the Hafen City. Hamburg's newest district is one of the things which sets it apart from other European cities, offering a wealth of bars, restaurants and cultural highlights all located around the beautiful harbour. The Elbphilharmonie viewing platform offers 360-degree panoramic views of Hamburg from a height of 37 meters.
