Must See

As the hometown of William Shakespeare, Stratford-Upon-Avon draws visitors from all over the world to its five Shakespeare-related historic houses. Shakespeare's Birthplace on Henly Street is now a popular museum and learning centre while Mary Arden's Farm hosts storytelling sessions and falconry displays. Children also love the interactive mechanical art displays of Stratford's MAD Museum.

Bell Court opened late 2017 and has restaurants and an Everyman Cinema to enjoy. Each year the town welcomes the Literary Festival in April, the Motor Festival in May, the River Festival in June, the Food Festival in September and the Christmas markets in December. In addition, Shakespeare's Celebrations take place in April and is a must for all ages.

Stratford-Upon-Avon makes an ideal base to explore the north Cotswolds, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The world famous Royal Shakespeare Theatre is just 5 minutes walk from the hotel along the picturesque River Avon. Historic century old buildings mix with modern bars, stylish restaurants and shops. The medieval Warwick Castle is just 10 miles away. Plenty to see and do.

Stratford Butterfly Farm houses the UK's largest exotic butterflies floating around a carefully sustained tropical environment. A trip to see a Shakespeare play at the famous RSC Theatre or a contemporary production at The Bear Pit Theatre. Hire a row boat and have some fun on the River Avon or take an organised barge cruise and sit back and just enjoy the stunning scenery.

Don't Go Home Without

No visit to Shakespeare's hometown would be complete without seeing one of his plays performed by the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC). Five minutes' walk from the hotel along the banks of the River Avon, the RSC's main stage and neighbouring Swan Theatre specialise in works by the Bard and his contemporaries. The Swan's circular Elizabethan-style auditorium puts the audience close to the action.
