This site marks the baptism of Jesus by John, and thus the beginning of Jesus' mission and indeed the beginning of Christianity. It is considered to be one of the three holiest Christian sites in the world, together with Bethlehem, the Church of the Nativity, where Jesus was born, and Jerusalem, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, where Jesus terrestrial mission ended at least until the Second Coming.

Amman, the capital of Jordan, is a fascinating city of contrasts – a unique blend of old and new, situated on a hilly area between the desert and the fertile Jordan Valley. In the commercial heart of the city, state-of-the-art buildings, hotels, restaurants, art galleries and shops can comfortably be found alongside traditional cafés and small craft workshops. Amman's neighborhoods are rich in cultural and historical diversity.

The ancient city of Jerash in the north of the capital Amman. Inhabited since the Bronze Age, it’s known for the ruins of the walled Greco-Roman settlement of Gerasa just outside the modern city. These include the 2nd-century Hadrian’s Arch, the Corinthian columns of the Temple of Artemis and the huge Forum’s oval colonnade. The Jerash Archaeological Museum displays artifacts excavated from the site.

Just 30km from Amman, along the 5,000-year-old Kings´ Highway, is one of the most memorable places in the Holy Land. After passing through a string of ancient sites, the first city you reach is Madaba “City of Mosaics." Fifteen minutes to the west of Madaba is the most revered site in Jordan: Mount Nebo, with the memorial of Moses at the presumed site of the prophet's death and burial place, and from the top of the mountain, visitors can see The Dead Sea, Bethlehem and even Jerusalem.

Visitors to the Dead Sea should also take advantage of another nearby wonder, Ma’in Hot Springs (Hammamat Ma’in) with the mineral-rich waters of these hyper-thermal water,located 264m below sea level in one of the most breathtaking desert in the world. These falls originate from winter rainfalls in the highland plains of Jordan and eventually feed the 109 hot and cold springs in the valley.

The Mujib Nature Reserve is bordering the Dead Sea at 402 meters below sea level with a deep and majestic canyon that cuts through the rugged highlands and drains into the Dead Sea. This 1,300m variation in elevation, combined with the valley's year-round water flow from seven tributaries, means that the Wadi Mujib enjoys a magnificent biodiversity that is still being explored and documented today.

Petra is the legacy of the Nabataeans, an industrious Arab people who settled in southern Jordan more than 2,000 years ago. Admired then for its refined culture, architecture and ingenious complex of dams and water channels, Petra is one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. The Treasury, the main trail continues past the Siq, Royal Tombs, Colonnaded Street and ends by Qasr Al-Bint (The Girl’s Palace).
