Great hotel--except for the maids who woke me at 6:45 AM (2 hours early) knocking around in the hallway, and with a noon flight out of Brussels Airport, I couldn't use earplugs to get back to sleep or I would have risked missing my flight. I said some nasty words at the maids around 6:50, but then, I'm not sure they understood English because they were banging around again at 8 AM. Other hotel staff were very good, but then, other things are secondary to sleep. This was a hotel, after all--not a carnival. November 16, 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Surprise - No more check-in staff Imagine when you walk into a hotel you have been to many times before, you are tired because of the travel and traffic, and the reception counter in the hotel lobby has gone! And with it, the friendly staff that used to greet you with a smile and perform a swift check-in action. Of course thereby asking for any special wishes like restaurant reservations or taxi pre-bookings. Instead you find some sort of a desk with a number of screens/printers, where you perform your own check-in (similar to airports) and obtain your room key. There was one staff member around for solving problems, but the experience was one that I did not appreciate. Cutting costs is one key objective in the hotel business, I do understand that fact very well, but the industry is still called the hospitality business, so doing away with a reception counter where one can actually talk to staff seems to me one step too far.
