Wicksteed Park

The Park's beginnings can be traced back to 1913 when Charles Wicksteed purchased a tract of Northamptonshire meadowland near Kettering with the intention of developing a model village. On offer are, Carousel, Crazy Golf, Lighthouse, Laser Dome, Roundabout, Mini Jets, Inflatable, Cups & Saucers, Putting Green, Dodgems and a Railway. Hot food and drinks available from Arcade Cafe, Oaktree takeaway and The Park View Bistro. Snacks can be purchased from the Sandcastle Kiosk on the free playground.

Kirby Hall

Deene, Corby, NN

Kirby Hall is one of England’s greatest Elizabethan and 17th century houses earlier owned by Sir Christopher Hatton, Lord Chancellor to Queen Elizabeth I. Although this vast mansion is partly roofless, the walls show the exceptionally rich decoration that proclaims that its successive owners were always in the forefront of new ideas about architecture and design. The Great Hall and state rooms remain intact, refitted and redecorated to authentic 17th and 18th century specifications.

Boughton House

The house displays a staggering collection of fine art including paintings, furniture, porcelain, weapons, textiles - including stunning pieces created for the French Royal Family. The Park is listed Grade one in the Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest and includes a great spread of lawns, lakes, waterways, woods and avenues of trees, some of which are nearly 290 years old

Rockingham Castle

This remarkable castle, built on the instruction of William the Conqueror, has been the family's home for 450yrs. Prior to the Watson's ownership the Castle was held by the crown. There are few other homes that have been continuously occupied for nearly 1000 years and within that time been owned by just one family since being relinquished as a royal Castle. Poised above the Welland Valley with fine views of five counties the ramparts enclose 12 acres of sweeping lawns.

Feed the ducks, groom a pony, watch and get involved in the ever popular piglet race, plus lamb bottle feeding in the spring! There is plenty to see and do under cover too, with all activities and a good variety of penned animals on display

Burghley House

History can come alive in a single trip whether it is to enjoy a guided tour, take a dog for a walk or take the children to paddle, see the Teddy Bear’s picnic in the Gardens of Surprise or enjoy lunch in the Orangery. Built and mostly designed by William Cecil, Lord High Treasurer to Queen Elizabeth I, between 1555 -1587, the main part of the House has 35 major rooms on the ground and first floors. There are more than 80 lesser rooms and numerous halls, corridors, bathrooms and service areas.

Deene Park

A most interesting house, occupied and developed by the Brudenell family since 1514, from a mediaeval manor around a courtyard into a Tudor and Georgian mansion. Visitors see many rooms of different periods, providing an impressive yet intimate ambience of the family home of many generations. The most flamboyant member of the family to date was the 7th Earl of Cardigan, who led the charge of the Light Brigade at Balaklava and of whom there are many historic relics and pictures on view.

East Carlton Country Park

East Carlton Countryside Park is situated on the edge of the beautiful Welland Valley. The Heritage Centre in the converted coach house and stables houses a display featuring the history of Corby and the development of the iron and steel industry in the town. The park includes an all inclusive play area for all ages. The cafe is open all year and offers light meals, hot and cold drinks. Craft shops available on site and take country walks through fine mature woodland and grasslands

Rutland Water

Sykes Lane, Empingham, Oakham, Rutland, LE15 8PX

The Reserve occupies a narrow strip of land running for 9 miles around the western end of Rutland Water and covering a total of 600 acres. This was created in the 1970s with the construction of the reservoir. There are currently 27 Bird hides and nature trails from two visitor centres with experts to help you with identification. The Reserve is also home to the successful Osprey project where the first Osprey chick to fledge in Central England for 150 years was hatched in 2001.

The Core Theatre Corby

Corby's brand new Theatre is a stunning 445-seat venue with a curved retractable seating system to facilitate a flexible flat floor auditorium space that can hold up to 700. The space has been designed to have a traditional theatre feel with balcony viewing, while keeping modern theatre systems and flexibility.
