National Exhibition Centre (NEC)

Coventry Cathedral

Consecrated in 1962, Sir Basil Spence's controversial Coventry Cathedral is the city's main attraction. The cathedral is on the same site as the 14th-century Perpendicular building, and you can visit the original tower. The cathedral is open daily from 9am to 5pm; the tower is open during summer months when staff availability permits. A donation of £3.50 per person is suggested for adults for entrance to the cathedral; tower admission is £2.50 adults, £1 children 5 to 15.

Belgrade Theatre

The Belgrade Theatre is a live performance venue seating 856 and situated in Coventry. It was the first civic theatre to be built after the Second World War in Britain and as such was more than a place of entertainment. It joined the new Coventry Cathedral as a symbol of optimism and culture in one of the largest re-development projects then undertaken, to rebuild the city of Coventry, which had been almost totally destroyed by bombing. The building is now a grade II listed building.
