Worst stay ever at a holiday inn

Their was a rotten egg smell in the bathroom coming from the shower and sink as well as black mold in the shower. I go sick from drinking the bottled water in the room was throwing up for 7 hours straight. The air conditioning was not working right. Management does nothing to help was told I would be contacted by someone it’s been over a month with multiple calls to the holiday inn. I would recommend staying far away from this place.
Staff friendly but experience was poor

Room was like a sauna. Two members of staff arrived to try to fix the aircon but failed. Then it took two people to try to open the window which was locked with a key. I was promised to either move room or have the aircon fixed by an engineer but the manager and staff simply failed to deliver. As a result I had to sleep with the window open. The road outside was very busy all night including emergency service vehicles passing by caused a disturbed sleep for two days. Very disappointed with Holiday Inn and the staff at this hotel…even though they were pleasant.

Very nice hotel overall. Clean, safe, comfortable with spacious and modern rooms. Nice staff. Ines, the manager, went out of her way to help us recover a suitcase we forgot in Fatima. Metro Casa de Musica is 500 meters away from the hotel. You need to stop at metro Trindad and take any of the four lines to reach the amazing Porto historic centre. Two issues : 1) Only one restaurant near the hotel, meaning you better eat in the centre before coming back. 2) This hotel is unfriendly for smokers. No terrace or smoking zones outside. You need to stand up in the cold or under the hot sun to smoke.

Overall hotel in great location. Hotel is very nice. Breakfast had options. Only complaint is room and bathroom were extremely small.

Seré breve: Hay que tener en cuenta que no se trata de un hotel de lujo, que gocé de una de las mejores habitaciónes y la valoraciòn hay que hacerla de acuerdo con su categoría. En este sentido es una joya de hotel en donde todos lo aspectos los valoro con la máxima puntuación. Un diez absoluto.

We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn in Porto and had a generally positive experience. The hotel is in a great location, close to both the bus and train stations, making it easy to get around. It’s also within a 10-minute walk of a large supermarket and near a shopping centre with plenty of eateries, including a food hall ,very convenient for meals and essentials.
The breakfast was lovely, with a good selection of hot food included, which was a nice way to start the day. We also appreciated the complimentary toiletries available on request, like toothpaste, toothbrushes, and cotton wool, small but thoughtful touches. The shower and washing facilities were clean and well maintained.
Our only real issue was that our room was positioned right by the hotel's illuminated sign. Even with the curtains fully closed, the room stayed quite bright at night, making it difficult to sleep. If you're a light sleeper, it might be worth requesting a room away from the signage.
Overall, a good stay with great amenities, but the lighting issue affected our rest.

+ Hotel Room. Everything matches the photo and the description: well-maintained and nice rooms over there.
+ Personnel. Very attentive and friendly personnel: starting from the reception up to restaurant and the cleaning crew. It was very comfortable to deal with them any time.
+ Breakfast. Good breakfast as in the most of good hotels, very nice restaurant.
+ Location. Close to the Metro (5 min walk) so it was comfortable to get there. A little bit far from the city center (~40 min walking distance) but less busy and less noisy.
Enjoyed the stay here. Thanks for contributing to nice Porto experience!
- Breakfast. It would be really nice to have some hot meat choices (like bacon or sausages). Personally for me it would greatly improved the breakfast experience.
- Fridge. It would be also nice to have a small fridge in the room. We had some cosmetic creams requiring cold place to store.
Please treat these are friendly suggestions to slightly improve future guest experience. Good luck!
Less than expected from a new hotel

This is a new hotel, but I experienced these things that needs improvement:
- I requested a king bed room but realized it was irregular-shaped and even smaller than a queen bed room.
- No spare roll of toilet paper until it ran out and I needed to go to the reception to ask for a new roll.
- One night when I returned to the room after 9 pm, the room was cleaned but all towels were taken without giving me new ones. I needed to go to the reception for new ones.
- There was a bottle of water in the room. I used it and thought it was replaced with a new bottle every day. But when I asked the reception, it was refilled with tap water daily. But how could it be ensured that the bottle was clean by housekeeping?!?!?!
- The front entrance was locked at night and must be opened with hotel card. This was good but my cards never worked every night I stayed there, although I asked for a replacement card every time.
Fire alarm going off 2 nights in a row

During midnight 8th and 9th March, the fire alarm gone off not once not twice but 3 times on Saturday and 4 times on Sunday.. disappointing when the hotel team do not even acknowledge the inconvenience created by having to walk all the way down from 7th floor to ground, multiple times.
Also room 705 have an odd smell in the toilet that housekeeping failed to get rid, it is most probably caused by a design fault of not having u pipies installed in pipings. Stayed in this room twice and over 10 days in total over 4 months.
Lastly, reception could not provide an invoice during check out and promised to send by email. After 36 hours yet to receive. Not the standard that I associate IHG with..
