Nice All Around Experience! There was a glitch in the reservation I made (my mistake) and the check in staff Patiently worked through it with me! I was impressed with the professionalism displayed! Our stay was comfortable and peaceful. The quality of our room was beyond our expectations. The cleaning staff did a great job! We can think of nothing negative related to our weekend stay!

Very comfortable bed and quiet environment. Breakfast and bathroom can be improved. There’s a hidden fee that they didn’t tell me when I booked. Liked most of their staffs being pleasant and helpful except for a front man who showed no emotion, courtesy at all when I presented the issue - very disappointing.
Great place, bad breakfast.

For the price and location this is a great hotel. The room, lobby, and elevator were all super clean and the staff was very friendly! Definitely recommend!
All they needed was a swimming pool

The hotel was awesome. The staff was very friendly. It just didn’t have a pool and I would’ve liked to sing hands on breakfast.

We’ll return to this hotel when we visit Kalamazoo. It’s clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. I had a mishap when I lost my prescription glasses but the staff found and returned them to me and that is greatly appreciated.

Nice doubt, odor from cleaning detergent is strong

This hotel was nice. It is new. I think it was built in 2021. The room was clean. Staff was very friendly. My biggest concern is the cleaning detergent that they use in the rooms. The odor is really strong. Very unpleasant. If you stay here, you need to request that they clean your room with hot water only.
A good place to stay

It is a nice place to stay, very clean and staff are very helpful. There is a free parking and breakfast included. Unfortunately you can't open windows, so if you want a fresh air you need to go outside. There is air-conditioning but it's not the same :) this time for whole week they provide only apple for breakfast, it would be nice to have some others fruits too.

While clean and sinple, sound deadening between room above and mine not so quiet as other IHG hotels and the IHG Rewards casting on the smart TV was annoying and kept popping up after 5 min dismissing it. Would only recommend Avid for just a couple night stay vs longer term stays (like Holiday Inn etc)
Bad Experience

I had a miserable experience unrelated to the actual stay. I called the hotel the day of my arrival to say I would be arriving late. I wanted to make sure there would be an attendant. I tried 10x, each time no answer. I was concerned there would not be someone present. So I contacted IHG, who tried to contact the hotel with no answer, either. IHG said they would reach the hotel. When I arrived, someone was there, but did not get a message from IHG. He learned from me that their phone lines were not working when I called in his presence. He said it was quiet all day (well, no kidding).
In addition, my credit card statement showed an additional $50 charge. I call the following two days (no answer, again) to ask what that was. I asked IHG for assistance. They said I would receive a response in 24-48 hours. I have not received a response. I finally reached the hotel today. The person said that the $50 charge was a security deposit 5 that will be refunded in 5-8 business days. At now time did anyone explain when I made the reservation, or check-in, that there was a security deposit. That is bad business and very misleading.
Needless to say, I have no interest in staying at an Avid hotel in the future and may stop my membership to IHG due to
Poor customer service.

The staff is great. Extremely friendly and helpful and the rooms are my favorite! Very awesome and beds are so comfortable ! Avid is awesome!
