Barking dog across the hall barked at night and early morning keeping us awake.
Went for breakfast around 8:30 and there was no eggs, no sausage, there was cereal all on the floor, garbage was overflowing and all the table tops were dirty.

Hotel was not clean - specifically the bathroom. My sheets had tiny hairs all over and some stains on the pillow cases. The gym overall was also not very clean. However, the staff were friendly, check in was quick and easy and the water pressure was great. I did have a spider in my shower which added to the feeling of uncleanliness.

Stay was pleasant and area is rather convenient for food stores and restaurants and within walking distance too. Close to Main Street (downtown Perry) drive wise (few min).
Breakfast was not just grab and go but had eggs, bacon or sausage, potatoes and then your fruits, cereal, juice bar, etc.
Loved the 24/7 access to coffee, tea, water, ice and the gym.
Laundry area is washer / dryer (yes you have to pay about $5-8 depending if you have your own detergent). Not 24/7 (probably because it’s located next to rooms.
I did find it but odd that there wasn’t a private (behind closed doors) “office/ meeting area” in case you have to work. Also indoor pool only. Wish there was like little outside area by the pool you can just hang outside in the sun or choose sit under shade.
Housekeeping was inconsistent. Monday/ Tuesday and j believe Wednesday, our housekeeper Sharon was awesome. Friendly, helpful and on point with clean up/ replacement. But once she was off, immediate difference and lack of quality in the work.
Amanda at the front desk was the best honestly. Friendly, professional, engaging… smile on her face. Very welcoming.
For the money, the value in general - there are other hotels with more or better amenities for better price. I’m grateful I can use my points for this.
Also the hotel doesn’t accept dogs (just service animals).
Beds are comfortable mattress wise (but the bad frames squeak for some reason when you get in/ out of bed), choice of firm or soft pillow, A/C worries great, water pressure in shower is amazing (if you have kids, at least in the double Queen room - no detachable shower head).

The staff at Avid was standup. They were friendly, greeting you as you came and went. The room attendants made us feel welcomed and possessed great people skills. If you are ever in Perry, GA and desire a hospitable place to stay. Check out Avid by IHG.
Experience was far from ideal

I recently stayed at the AVID in Perry, Georgia, and unfortunately, my experience was far from ideal.
The first room I was given (on the fourth floor) was visibly dirty: there were fingerprints all over the doorknob and light switches, and a noticeable pinkish ring around the toilet bowl, suggesting it hadn’t been properly cleaned. To make matters worse, the AC unit in that room was extremely noisy, making it difficult to imagine getting a good night’s sleep.
I requested to move, and the staff did relocate me to a room on the first floor. While I appreciated their willingness to help, the second room had many of the same cleanliness issues. There were still fingerprints on the doorknob and light switches, a pinkish ring around the toilet bowl, and pinkish slime in each corner of the shower base. This was quite concerning from a hygiene standpoint and clearly indicated that housekeeping was not paying sufficient attention to thorough cleaning.
It’s disappointing, especially given that this property is supposed to be relatively new. If this level of housekeeping continues, the hotel’s quality and reputation will decline quickly.
I usually avoid this brand but decided to give IHG another chance. Sadly, this stay did not change my mind. After moving once already, I didn’t want to ask to be moved yet again. Fortunately, I’m capable of scrubbing a shower myself—which I actually had to do to feel comfortable using it—but I really shouldn’t have had to do that in a hotel.
Overall, this was an unpleasant experience. I hope management seriously addresses these issues to improve the standard of cleanliness for future guests.
