I would recommend this hotel. It was very clean, nice room and comfortable beds. Staff was excellent and breakfast was very good.

Very good hotel, with a very good bang for your buck, specially when compared to another IHG offering nearby.
The staff was really nice and they really try to satisfy the guest wishes. Despite of some software issues at check in, the staff handled the situation particularly well.
Diamond Elite status was promptly recognized and respective perks given out.
The beds are comfy and some rooms even have terrace.
There is also free public street parking not too far from the hotel, if you do not mind walking a bit.

Wir kommen für Familienbesuche zur Zeit häufiger nach Regensburg und haben das Holiday Inn - the niu Sparrow Anfang des Jahres entdeckt. Wir fühlen uns dort gut aufgehoben. Das Hotel liegt sehr günstig für unsere Anforderungen und ist vom Hauptbahnhof aus gut zu erreichen. Das Empfangspersonal ist kompetent und freundlich, der Check-in ist in ein paar Minuten erledigt!
Das Frühstücksangebot haben wir bisher nicht in Anspruch genommen. Wir frühstücken mit der Familie.

Niu typisch mit Abstrichen. Das Hotel wie immer gut...ABER: der Pancake Automat beim Frühstück war defekt, schlimm für meine Tochter, das war mit der Aufenthalt Grund. Der Selfie Automat an der Rezeption defekt (wie fast immer) aber am schlimmsten der super widerliche Duschkopf in unserem Zimmer...sowas ekliges noch nie erlebt leider

I was disappointed about the stay at this hotel because there was no chair in the room. When asked the reception to take one of the chair from the lobby, I was told "Don't do it, and all rooms in the hotel were not supposed to have any chair in it". This was my first time (ever) that there was no chair in the hotel room!
Also, the hotel was located next to train tracks, there was quite a lot of train noises over night, making sleep difficult.

This is by far the worst IHG hotel I have ever encountered – so bad, in fact, that I didn’t even end up staying the night. I don’t say that lightly, having spent over 500 nights in IHG properties across the globe.
The car parking situation is beyond belief. I spent three hours trying to find a space, only to be told by staff that reservations for parking weren’t possible. Eventually, when I finally did manage to park, I was told I needed to move because the space was “reserved for another guest.” A complete joke.
But what made this situation even worse was the attitude of the staff. When I tried to raise my concerns, I was met with indifference and comments like “not my issue” – a complete lack of professionalism or care for guests. At no point did anyone attempt to help or resolve the problem. It was clear that customer service is simply not a priority here.
In the end, I gave up and checked into the nearby Ibis, where the experience was like night and day – welcoming, efficient, and helpful service from the moment I walked in.
I highly recommend you avoid this hotel entirely and book the Ibis instead. This IHG property is a total embarrassment to the brand.
