A little off the highway but worth it

Not a lot of choices close by to eat but went to the Mad Meatball around the corner it was very good. We were just passing thru so didn’t get to use any amenities

We rented a room for our son when he traveled to Des Moines IA. As this was his first time staying on his own, he was somewhat reluctant to bring up the issues he had with his room:
Room 312
- the shower water was warm, never had hot enough water both mornings to shower comfortably
- the toilet paper holder was broken
- the bathroom door wouldn’t close all the way and the door would not lock
- the sink drained very slowly

Great place to stay. Relaxing atmosphere and very clean facility. We had a very friendly staff and the spot is conveniently located so you can find plenty of family friendly things to do.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this remarkable hotel, and I cannot speak highly enough of the experience. From the moment I arrived, the customer service was nothing short of exceptional. Every staff member I encountered was warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
The room was a perfect haven—spotlessly clean, fresh-smelling, and thoughtfully prepared for a relaxing visit. One of the highlights for me was the ability to control the temperature to my exact preference, which made a significant difference in my overall comfort.
The amenities were equally impressive. Both the pool and the hot tub were pristine and provided a wonderful way to unwind. The hotel grounds themselves were beautifully maintained, offering a peaceful and inviting atmosphere throughout the property.
This hotel truly exceeded my expectations in every way. If you’re looking for a stay where comfort, cleanliness, and top-tier service come together seamlessly, I highly recommend this location.

When checked in on May 8th, the young lady on duty (Maddy) did an exceptional job to get me checked in. I had a problem with my debit card for the incidental charges and she did an incredible amount of effort to make it work. She went up and beyond the call of duty.
Shuttle is a huge plus

This IHG is close to the Unity Point DSM Methodist Hospital and the shuttle is a huge plus. The parking ramp and whole area is confusing. Wonderful to be dropped off at the door and picked up the same. The attendants have all been wonderful@

Basic comfort, convenient to downtown, friendly accommodating staff no shuttle on Sundays

The hotel is clean, close to downtown, within walking distance of most attractions, basic rooms, good bed, and nice shower.
The negative: the lighting could be better, brighter, the TV controls actually discourage using it because finding a channel/content is so clunky, mushy pillows, chaise sofa had no pillows on it, coffee, microwave area very odd and area crowed.
The hot water and water pressure disappeared at 3am on a Sunday when we had an early flight. Reported it.
Overall, the location, price and cleanliness would probably make me decide to stay again.

It’s a great spot to stay especially if you want to shop not far away from the mall at all, the staff is amazing, the rooms are amazing. We came for a bachelorette party, did so much , so much fun . The only problem is when we decorated our door , the tape got moved from the door to the door frame but it was probably kids because at the time we stayed there was so many sporting events going on and so we told this nice lady working and she came up with us. She was very understanding and the hotel even gave us a little bottle of wine on the theme. I definitely recommend them and we’re definitely staying again.
