The hotel is clean, very good hot breakfast, reasonably priced. I stay at this hotel every time I visit the area. The only downside is the air conditioning is a little noisy. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

We stayed 4 night. Got in late Friday night and had an all day outing leaving about 9:30am Saturday and back at 8 pm. When we got back our room was not cleaned and the temperature was 84 in the room. Front desk told me that if I have my Do Not Disturb out after 6:30am! the room wont get clean! Apparently the front desk clerk walks the halls at the time and determines what room gets cleaned by the DND tag on your door. I had to go the front desk each day and specifically request our room to be cleaned as we certainly were not up at 6:30 am. the room temperature continued to fluxgate from 60 to 84 degrees even though I set it at 73. Wanted to talk to a manager and was told there is not one on the weekends! So spoke with Mgr Teri Baker about my concerns on Monday morning.. She said " you room was cleaned on Sunday" I said only because I had to ask for it be done. Told her about not being up at 6 30Am to remove my DND sign and she made a comment about the night /afternoon doesn't know what the morning shift does! ( and that is relevant how?) she said the problem with my thermostat was some previous guest played with the button settings and she would come in and rest it. I doubt she did as the temperature continued to change. Desk clerk said it is an on going problem and hated the system. I felt the mgr really was not interested in what I was saying and was not the least bit sorry for my story. And made no attempt to make it right. I always though that hotels were run for the comfort of the guest and not for the connivence of the staff. The property charged my credit card for the entire 4 nights about an hour after check in! We travel a lot and I retired in the Hotel business so I know her attitude. Hopefully we will never have to stay there again.

We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times now and we have always left happy. It is very clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. It is close to the interstate which is convenient. The breakfast is always good and the area is kept very clean.

Great Little Hotel. It underwent a total renovation last year. We were there for the construction. Would recommend and will stay there again.

The recently remodeled hotel was very nice. We spent three nights there when our daughter graduated from U of I Vet School

Other than 30-40 minutes drive, this is a perfect hotel when visit UIUC. Staff is very friendly, and the hotel room is spacious and well maintained. One of the best Holiday Inns I visited in the last few years.

Best hotel from Matton/Charleston to Champaign. Very cost effective compared to other options in the area. New facilities and very friendly and helpful staff. If you have kids, the pool is great and well maintained.
Bugs on the floor !!!!

There were bugs on the floor which was brought to the attention of the front desk but no help ! Had high expectations but very disappointed with the service.

A standard version of a Holiday Inn Express is often still better than most small town properties we’ve stopped at. This was definitely true here. We arrived thirty minutes prior to 3:00 check-in and there were two cars in the parking lot. However, the reception clerk told us our room was not yet ready. This is when I wish my IHG Loyalty credits would help speed up the process, but unfortunately, it did not. It is unlikely that the room was still being cleaned as the housekeeping staff were no longer present. Once we were finally settled in, we felt very satisfied and rested from a long drive. The sofa bed suite was not overly spacious, but comfortable bedding, pillows, and mattresses, plus a sofa and chair were very welcoming. The AC vent blew loud and cold at the guest sleeping next to it. When the room was at a good temp, we turned off the system. The sink outside of toilet area was inconvenient, as it was adjacent to the entry door to the room. Someone using the sink was bumped into by another guest leaving or entering the room. Also providing no wastebasket in bathroom can be personally inconvenient. We found an extremely good restaurant about a mile away to enjoy dinner. A few fast food and takeout options were not far from the premises. It was disheartening to see the ghost of a former outlet mall nearby. Our entry to the HI Express took us right past the nearly abandoned mall. One major highlight was the complimentary morning breakfast buffet. It was well stocked and beautifully presented.
