We were very pleasently surprised by the updated Holiday Inn Lumina. We've stayed here before and it was a nice place to stay at Wrightsville Beach, NC, but the update has upped the game. The public areas are much more inviting and check in was quick and pleasent. The room was not just comfortable, but a pleasure to hang out in. We had an oceanside room, which we recommend highly. The ocean sounds at night are great for sleeping. We only had breakfast, which is now a buffet with a custom omelette station in a completely remodeled restaurant. The wait staff were excellent. Our overall impression is they hired a top interior designer who completely overhauled the hotel, with care taken for every space, public interior, outdoors, rooms and even hallways. This is in our opinion now the best oceanfront hotel in the area and we will be back.

We only stayed one night due to quick travels. To just stay at hotel and enjoy the beach it was great. Beautiful hotel inside and out. All staff members were friendly. It would have been appreciated to be told upon check in about the resort fees.

I felt rushed, not as good anymore. Also, in the lobby I should not have to tip if I pick the items myself - what is the staff getting a tip for, to just punch a few keys on the register screen.

Came upon this hotel from a social media video post. So glad I gave it a try!
I was originally going to stay in Wilmington but was influenced to give this a try. I’m so glad I did. Would come again and have already told other people about it.
Great Place, Great Beach and Great Staff.

The Place is great with 2 problems. Everyone I talked to complained about the elevators. 2 Elevators for 7 floors and over 300 guests is absurd. Wait time was 5 to 7 minutes at times. The second problem is the outdated HVAC system. Our balcony was flooded with water every day and during our stay I saw 2 units being replaced on our floor.

Only 1 elavator working ruined our beach trip. Trying to get to the 7th floor was a night mare. The worst part is we pay enough money for this beach hotel. We waited 40 min at check out on the 7th floor with our bags . Every elavator that came to the 7th floor was full, then the only elavator broke down. the only way we could get down to the parking lot was the service elavator after waiting 40-50 min. If this was only one time fine but we had to deal with this 1 elavator the whole weekend. There is no excuse for this service failure . I talked with other guest that said that the elavator was not working 6 months ago on their last trip. Someone in Holiday Inn Lumina seems not to care. Or just don't want to spend the money. Next trip to Wrightsville beach I will call your hotel and ask if both elavators work , if one elavator is not working I will get another Hotel that cares about their customers. I would not recomend this Hotel to any of my friends or family. Why pay more for an ocean front room and you can't get to the ocean. NO EXCUSSES JUST FIX THE ELAVATORS!!!

This resort has really gone downhill. Theyve spent a ton of time and effort making the resort fancy. And have completely lost the point of coming.
They lock the path to the beach and the pools at 10. You can get there, but you have to work around the many locked doors. 1 or 2 elevators hasnt worked in over a week. The one remaining hot tub is luke warm and has weak jets. The pool area stinks of kids urine and badly managed chlorine. The outdoor pool is fine.
The fun outdoor activities are almost never running, the kids area is gone, the little store is a joke.
Our room was clean, except the dirty towels and the cockroaches in the bathroom and the main room. There were 2 cups for the 4 of us. The room smelled and looked very clean otherwise.
And the restaurants are easily double the cost of a few years ago for worse quality.

Had great time during our short beach trip. The room was clean and big, staff was kind and friendly. Even though the elevator issue, I can say that the place is well maintained. I cannot stay anywhere else in Wrightsville Beach after this trip.

We stayed at The Lumina at Wrightsville Beach this past week, and it was absolutely perfect. The hotel is right on the beach, making it incredibly convenient and relaxing. The atmosphere was clean, modern, and welcoming, and being just steps from the ocean made the whole experience unforgettable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for the ideal beach getaway.

Beautiful location, great pool and pool deck! The rooms were amazing and the staff very friendly and helpful. We loved the parking deck, the ease of the floors and the only downfall was the one working elevator. On checkout day, it took us 30 mins to get on the elevator because of the amount of people going up or down, and we could not get our luggage carrier on. We almost missed our flight because of the delay of the 1 elevator, as the other one did not post any signs of it being broken down. It was a hassle to go up or down to any floor, and at one point, I had to take the stairs, which my mother almost didn't make it because of her 2 knee operations. Please next time, make sure all elevators are working when you schedule a medical conference back to back in one week.

Very clean and accommodating! Right on the beach, so was nice that we didn’t have to fight parking to relax on the beach! Covered parking garage. I would stay here again.

This location was chosen specifically for proximity to beach and appearance of hotel and amenities. The food options were fantastic, both inside resort and nearby. The ocean made for a wonderful sleep in a comfortable bed. The room and hotel were exceptionally clean and well-presented. The staff was informative, attentive, and very friendly. Our stay was beyond incredible for us and we will be visiting this hotel again.
